Excellent, runs small esp under the arms

- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
In the size S, this top is smaller than other comparable brands. I'm a 5'6" 120lb ballerina body. The torso was perfect around, but could have been longer, and the sleeves were just long enough. What caused me to return it is that it's quite high under the arms. I'm very lean in the shoulder area and small busted, and still found this uncomfortable while trying it on. The Medium fits perfectly in three ways, and is slightly loose in the torso. If my bust were more than 32 I'd need it. A note on the color-- in person the blue is a royal-denim blue, not the slightly aquamarine tone shown on the website. The red, which I also got was a perfect color match. I order online a lot, and this is the only item off a major retailer's site that has not matched the color on my screen. Regardless, the workmanship is nice. Fabric is a light-medium thickness. A little thicker than the thinnest wool base layers I've seen. Smooth and slightly scratchy on the skin, but not in a bad way at all. For me, only Smartwool doesn't have some feeling on the skin.
super soft, great value

This top is some of the softest merino around. I usually buy Icebreaker, but this is just as nice and a lot cheaper. The neck is stretchy (unlike some of the icebreaker LS tops) and so is easy on/off, which is great when you are out riding.
Any idea what gauge thickness this is? ...
