Effetto Mariposa Caffelatex Injector $0.00
Featured in the movie ‘Trainspotting’.
One of the major benefits of tubeless tire technology is the improved ride and lower rolling resistance. But with most tire and rim combinations, a proper tubeless setup may save a few grams as well. And we make measured decisions about the weights of the components we install on our bikes, so why be any less discretionary when it's time to fill the tires with sealant?
The Caffelatex Injector gives you the power to carefully measure and reliably get all of the proportioned liquid sealant into the tire where you want it, instead of onto your hands and floor. Caffelatex recommends a specific amount of sealant for each type and size of tire. The specified amount is enough to do the job of sealing your tubeless tires against punctures as you ride, so there's no need to have too much. All it would do is add extra grams exactly where you don't want them.
The Caffelatex Injector has a 100ml capacity for the largest of tires and has graduated markings printed on the outside for measuring smaller amounts of sealant for smaller tire sizes. There's a brass valve stem adapter on the end of the flexible vinyl injector hose that allows the unit to screw onto both Schraeder and Presta valve stems. Filling the tires with sealant is as easy as making the connection and depressing the injector plunger.
- Long tube allows for easy application
- Works with Presta valves only

Simple but effective
- Gender: Male
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Ideally you won't need this tool too often, but it certainly is nice to need it when the time arises to refresh your sealant. One unique feature of this injector is that it works exceedingly well at filling tubes with the valve core still in. No more having to break the bead to refill sealant, although it certainly doesn't hurt to scrape out the old stuff. I've only recently picked one up, but the first impressions are good (and I've used various methods of setting up sealant in the past)
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Great addition to the toolbox for adding stans to my tires, works as it should, nothing special, but for sure a great tool.
Great for tubulars
- Gender: Male
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I use this injector on my tubular tires to prevent flats, we have a ton of goatheads out here in Utah and they are not fun.
I've even used this on clinchers, doest work as well but it gets me home if I have a flat commuting.
