What a 29er should feel like.

The Easton XC One Disc 29in Wheel uses straight-pull stainless steel spokes to increase lateral stiffness and give your 29er a whole new feel on the trail. This wheel also includes a bomber XC1 hub to keep you rolling smoothly and handle the harshest of conditions. Easton created this tough wheel for long, rough rides, so make sure you have it on your 29er before you head out to ride Porcupine Rim as a loop.

Don't waste your time!!!

Don't waste your time! They're cheap for a reason.
You will waste countless hours getting them setup and then when they fail (and they will) you will be stuck with a non-tubeless wheel set. (Bring a long an extra tube or two because you will need them on your when you blow the bead.) The rim hook is not good and you will blow a tire or two off.

I really wanted them to work so badly, but it was a waste of time and money.
Buy the American Classic 29er Single Speed wheel set. You will be so happy.

I do own an Easton Tubular road wheel set and they kick ass, but the XCone is a piece of sh*t.

Will this wheelset work for bikes with track ends? (as opposed to an EBB or sliders)

Responded on

Assuming that you are talking about horizontal drops, yes, they will work. Although you're probably going to want some form of tensioner on the hubs to keep the pedaling torque and braking forces from causing the hub to slide in the drops.

The rear wheel offers an optional bolt on axle for just that kind of application. It has stainless bolts that thread into the axle with 6mm hex wrenches. I can't remember if I got the axle with the wheels or had to request an upgrade, I think it was the latter. Whatever the case, I haven't looked back to the qr skewer set up. Why would you want to hold your wheel on with a coat hanger?

The removal of the old axle can be tough but it ain't rocket surgery. A couple passes of the directions was helpful, but I think a lot of the struggle factor is determined by which axle cap breaks loose first. You have a 50/50 chance of loosening the desirable side first. Good luck.

If I can get you any info on the bolt on axle option, I'll plug it in below here....
