The Haven line grew out of Easton's desire to create componentry that would be both durable and lighten up the cockpits of all-mountain bikes. The Haven Carbon Zero Offset Seatpost rounds out the collection, as it's a lightweight and compliant carbon post designed for riders that are seeking the versatility provided through a neutral two-bolt post design. Easton's calling this post its 'All Mountain Gold Standard,' as it's both lightweight (240g at 31.6mm x 400mm) and exceptionally tough. This is due to a few technological innovations that are exclusive to Easton.
Easton built the Haven carbon post with both its Relief-Area Design (RAD) and TaperWall technology. TaperWall is a manufacturing technique that applies more material to the wall surfaces, where stiffness is paramount. Meanwhile, less material is applied to areas that require more compliance. For the Haven, Easton created multiple tapers within the seatpost, which both reinforce it and reduce its overall weight. The TaperWall technology also works to transfer impact energy freely down the length of the post, meaning that shock is dampened without compromising stiffness. This results in the Haven's ultra-smooth, compliant feel while in the saddle, and its resistance to torsional flex.
RAD technology works directly with the TaperWall, essentially flattening the aft section of the post. In addition to further reducing unnecessary weight, RAD prevents the gouging and scoring that often occurs on round posts from the binder bolt/clamp assembly.
At the top of the Haven, Easton placed its proven two-bolt aluminum clamping system. Its low-profile assembly securely encloses your saddle's rails, which also makes fine-tune adjustments a simplified affair.
The Easton Haven Carbon Zero Offset Seatpost is available with a unidirectional Matte Carbon finish, a 400mm length, and either a 30.9 or 31.6mm diameter.
