Burly pedals

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Big and burly, these will last years. Rocks and logs cowl in fear at the sight of these bad boys barreling down the trail. The pins stick well to my 5.10 shoes. One warning, you will end up with bloody shins if you aren't careful.

Great pedals!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Really great pedals, I'm a XC racer and decided to go from clipless to flat pedals for the training season. The pedals are very solid, they really grip to my 510s. Excellent to learn / improve technical skills.

Have taken a few good beatings and still looking great. Bearings are broken in and super smooth. Very pleased with these.

Not going anywhere

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought a set of Crank Brothers 5050-2 a few weeks ago on sale at REI, and put those on my bike. They weren't bad, they were at least light and beautiful, but they left something to be desired. Something about composite mountain pedals just doesn't seem reassuring.

Lo and behold, I found a set of Easton Flatboys on clearance at the LBS for $25, and couldn't resist. I put them on my bike, and they shred. Better grip, better feeling platform, no composite, all metal, shielded bearings, better color, and they're just burly. They are a good quarter inch thicker than the the Crank Brothers, but the platform is about the same size. Eastons are definitely a bit heavier, a little over 100 grams if I remember the specs correctly, but not too much to make it a deal breaker. Needless to say, returned the CB pedals and kept the Eastons, happy with that choice.

First time out, these were great, smacked them pretty hard on a rock, no damage, actually broke the rock, pedals came out fine. Grip for days, and they look sexy. Definitely recommended. I'm positive they'll last a long while.

Mine didn't come with extra pins, not sure if they just got lost in the store before I bought them, or if they don't, but I emailed Easton's customer service and they hooked me up with more, no questions asked. Great pedals, great company, would purchase again.

Grippy pedals

Just what I was looking for in pedals. Great grip, good for downhill biking and jumping. I little heavier than some, but very solid pedals. They also come with extra studs that are easily put in.

High quality, solid pedals

These are a great set of flats for the price. Solid high quality aluminum. They are nice and wide, and make it easy to keep your feet on with the metal pegs. Definitely recommend picking up a pair.

Good price for decent flats!

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I was just looking for a cheaper, high quality flat pedal. This did the trick and is actually pretty light as well. Overall I am very satisfied with the purchase and wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair if I needed them.

I know these pedals are big, but as a means of comparing them to other pedals online, could someone please provide dimensions (L x W x H)? Thanks!

Bigger than expected

I got these for my road bike and they are just way too big and bulky. They are solid and would definitely work nicely on a mountain bike.
