The security of aluminum.

The next time that you get a chance to closely examine a few pro cyclists' bikes, take a look at their seatposts. Even with more carbon componentry infiltrating these riders' machines, you might be surprised to see that the majority of them still prefer to use aluminum seatposts. The weight difference between carbon and aluminum posts is often negligible, and you just can't beat the dependability, comfort, and security that a well-built aluminum seatpost provides. These are the reasons that the world's most demanding cyclists continue to put their trust in aluminum posts, like Easton's EA70 Zero Offset Seatpost, season after season.

Easton built the EA70 aluminum post with its TaperWall technology. TaperWall is a manufacturing technique that applies more carbon to the wall surfaces of the post, where stiffness is paramount. Meanwhile, less material is applied to areas requiring more compliance. For the EA70, Easton created multiple tapers within the post, which both reinforces it and reduces its overall weight. This TaperWall technology also works to transfer impact energy freely down the length of the post, meaning that shock is dampened without compromising stiffness. This results in the EA70's ultra-smooth, compliant feel while in the saddle as well as its resistance to torsional flex.

For the top portion of the seatpost, Easton integrated a zero-offset forged aluminum head. This low-profile clamping mechanism relies on its proven two-bolt design, which securely encloses your saddle's rails and makes fine-tune adjustments a simplified affair.

The Easton EA70 Zero Offset Seatpost is available with a Black Anodized finish and with either a 300 or 400mm length. Additionally, Easton is providing this post in 27.2, 30.9, and 31.6mm diameters.
