Constructed from aluminum, the EA70 XCT 29er Tubeless Wheels ride on years of alloy know-how from the specialists at Easton. In fact, the signature EA70 alloy rim combines the durability of aluminum with a weight that rivals some competitors' carbon alternatives.
Adding to the strength side of things, the wheels benefit from EA90 technology at the rim. If you take a good look over the rim's surface, you'll notice Easton's hallmark welding process at the seam. Also, like the EA90, the XCT uses 24 straight-pull, double-butted spokes on the front and rear, along with standard sealed cartridge bearings within the Easton X2 hubs.
Creating a UST-approved rim is tricky, but Easton found a way to get around the task of eliminating the spoke penetrations in the outer-wall of the rim. The straight-pull spokes are placed in the hub in a three-cross pattern, as per usual, but the nipple pulls double duty. In other words, it's both internally and externally threaded.
When the spokes are drawn into the nipple, they're simultaneously threaded into the inner-wall of the rim. This way, they're able to be trued exactly like a wheel with standard nipples, and only the included valve stems pierce the entire cross-section of the rim. Meanwhile, the hubs for the EA70 XCT 29-inch wheels are machined from aluminum and house standard cartridge bearings for easy serviceability.
The EA70 XCT Tubeless 29er Wheel is compatible with six-bolt rotors and are available as either a front 15x100mm, or rear 12x142mm or 10x135QR configuration.

How do the rear hubs come set up? There's only one option for 10*135/12*142 yet as i understand it, these are separate hub standards. Does it come with conversion instructions for one or the other?
Hey Dalai Lama,
This comes set up as the 10x135 and packaged with the manual are the 12x142 hub adapters.

Do these wheels have the X4 or X2 hubs? The tech-spec claims that they are X4 and the description says that they are X2.
The tech specs are a typo, sorry. These wheels come with the X2 hub. I am going to get the site specs corrected.
