Poor quality

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This wheelset surprised me from day one with how much flex is in the wheel itself. I'm 220 geared to ride and my riding style is aggressive XC. I like to keep wheels on the ground. After 2 months, I spun out the freehub body and had to walk the bike back to the TH. CC is awesome as they warrantied this out but again 3 months later, same problem. After the second set being as flexy as the first and both freehub issues, I decided to upgrade to the Stans Arch Ex - so very happy I did.

Wow, I just had same problem happen to me today. I've only had the wheelset for approx 1 year and probably only have 20 rides total. Was shocked that when I was trying to climb up a trail with moderate grade the freehub was just spinning. Had to get off and walk bike back to car approx 2 miles, bummer! Got home and took off cassette and was able to turn freehub by hand. I've been mtbing for over 20 years and had at least 10 wheelsets and never had this happen. Thought the wheels would have held up better since the Santa Cruz tallboy they came on was originally around 6k$, got it on sale for 4K$. I'll call CC tomorrow and cross my fingers that they can help me.
