Haven't used this yet

  • Gender:Male
  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

A more detailed review to come though. I picked this wheel up in the 15mm thru axle to mate up with an upgraded fork. Once the spring/summer gets here I will rock the bike and give some details.

And Another Spoke Gone

Confirming my previous Two Star Rating, I popped another spoke yesterday, my first day in Garmisch of a four day trip to be followed by four days in the Black Forest. Truly bummed that I can't find a bike shop with a replacement spoke (went to five today) both breaks have been on the rear wheel on the cassette side.

I guess I'll have to spend my time riding / wobbling on roads, certain I won't ever get another set of Easton Wheels though.

Good, but flexy in the front QR version

I picked up a set of these, and then replaced the front when I bought a new fork. My original pair were both QRs, and the new one is a 15 thru-axle. Riding QR wheels is nothing new for me, and the front wheel of this set is decidedly flexy in the QR model. The 15mm thru-axle helped immensely. The 15mm is nearly as stiff as my old wheels with XT hubs and straight gauge spokes. They're pretty easy to set up tubeless, and reasonably light, and I haven't had to true them yet.

      Easton EA70 XC

Using this as the front wheel on a 69er. So far so good rolls over rough terrain with ease. Bearings seem to be solid !! Two thumbs up!

        Fast and Flexy

So far so good, haven't had to true them yet and the bearings spin forever. They are fairly flexly tho, but pretty much all 29ers are...

          Popped a Spoke Already

Sixth ride and one of the "Acoustic Wheel Tuned" double-butted, straight pull spokes popped off at the (dare I say it?) nipple.

A bit disapointing butt at least when I checked the damage to the hub and cogs I hadn't rectum... Possibly a fluke....

Wheels came with a King Kahuna so the price was extremely good.

Very simple question. Which wheels are...

Very simple question. Which wheels are simple QR wheels?...Ive noticed this on a lot of sites that have the Easton. I realize one may by thru axle but which one is just regular QR?

            Responded on

If you look in the dropdown you will see 9x100 front and 10x135 rear. These are the traditional "QR" style wheels. The 15mm front is a thru axle. Hope that helps.
