Item # EAS0203

No reinvention, just proven quality.

The Easton EA70 Wheel was the hoop that legitimized the company's claims of offering a supremely dependable, day-in, day-out training wheel. The 2012 iteration of the wheelset doesn't change that. Whether your cycling rigors take you beyond 500 training miles a week, or for hour-long hotlaps on the weekend CX circuit, the EA70's sealed C3 bearings and straight-pull spokes ensure the wheels will spin fast and straight for as long as you need them.

  • The pair weighs only 1650 grams—hardly your typical training boat-anchors
  • Entirely handbuilt, and acoustically hand-tuned in Easton's factory
  • Shot-peened anodized black finish

Good Wheels

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I found these on sale and could not resist. A big improvement over my stock wheels. Nice light wheels. It is a pain to put tires on, and I was warned that acquiring spokes for these and changing the spokes is not easy.

EA70 Wheel - Lots of stickers

EA70 Wheel - Lots of stickers

Says Easton EA70 3x on each side of the wheel. Yeah 12 stickers on the pair, and they show some wear from tire levers...

Solid Training/Commuting Wheels

Have had these on my training/commuting bike for about 1000 miles. Nice stiffness and good weight/durability compromise. Very laterally stiff! Came out of the box in perfect true and haven't had any issues with spokes, etc... Hubs are very smooth!

One thing keeping it from 5 stars - getting tires on these rims is a real pain. I've yet to find someone who doesn't agree. You'll need strong thumbs, good levers, and patience. Oh, and buy tubes in case you pinch flat them!
