Easton EA70 Offset Seatpost $80.00
When setback is a good thing.
Carbon is here to stay, but aluminum still remains the top choice of cockpit componentry by many of world's best cyclists. The reasons vary, but the one that we hear the most often is that aluminum provides a sense of security and dependability that can't be replicated with carbon. When you start to think about the stress that these riders put their bikes through day after day, it makes a little more sense. Easton is well aware of this too, which is why it continues to produce its proven EA70 line of aluminum seatposts. And for riders that prefer a bit of setback too, Easton has you covered with the EA70 Offset Seatpost.
Easton built the EA70 aluminum post with its TaperWall technology. TaperWall is a manufacturing technique that applies more carbon to the all surfaces of the post, where stiffness is paramount. Meanwhile, less material is applied to areas requiring more compliance. For the EA70, Easton created multiple tapers within the post, which both reinforces it and reduces its overall weight. This TaperWall technology also works to transfer impact energy freely down the length of the post, meaning that shock is dampened without compromising stiffness. This results in the EA70's ultra-smooth, compliant feel while in the saddle as well as its resistance to torsional flex.
For the top portion of the seatpost, Easton integrated its forged aluminum offset head, which provides 12mm of setback. This low-profile clamping mechanism relies on its proven two-bolt design in order to securely enclose your saddle's rails and make fine-tune adjustments a simple affair.
The Easton EA70 Offset Seatpost is available with a Black Anodized finish, a 350mm length and either a 27.2, 30.9, and 31.6mm diameter.
