(Center)locking down the competition.

The DT Swiss 240s hubs are damn tough to beat, given their incredible reliability, sleek design, and precise engineering. Then there are Shimano's hydraulic disc brakes, which set the industry standard for power, control, and minimal maintenance. Bring these two together, and you have an unbeatable combo, and up front, you'll want something like the DT Swiss 240s CenterLock Front Mountain Hub to keep it all rolling without the need for adapters for Shimano's CenterLock brake rotors.

The 240s front hubs use a forged aluminum shell that houses stainless steel bearings (balls and races), which are known for their famous durability. And thanks to the DT Swiss labyrinth seal system — non-contacting seals that utilize an asymmetrical path to resist moisture, muck, and grit — your bearings will keep their magical smoothness over the long haul. Shimano's proprietary Center Lock rotor interface firmly locks Shimano CenterLock rotors in place, maximizing braking forces for greater control.

The DT Swiss 240s CenterLock Front Mountain Hub comes in the colors Black or White. It utilizes Shimano's CenterLock rotor mounting interface and cannot accommodate any other rotors. It relies on a 100x15mm thru-axle system.

Quality - not much else to say

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Let's see, you pretty much can't go wrong with DT Swiss 240s hubs. Light, well finished, nice bearings, and good looks mostly sums it up.

I gave the hub 4 stars instead of 5 because it is expensive and I'd like to see pad stamped or laser etched graphics instead of the sticker.
