Swiss precision can be seen and heard in DT Swiss rear hubs. The bearings run smooth and quiet behind contact-free seals while the famed Hugi internals freewheel with a distinctive and enjoyable whir. If you haven't been around cycling long enough to remember Hugi, ask your friends. When the hubs first hit the market, everyone wanted them because they were lighter, better sealed, and had a freehub with near-instant engagement -- better than pretty much anything on the market at the time. Hidden under that DT Swiss label and inside the forged aluminum shell, the hubs still have that sizzle.

The DT Swiss 240s 135mm QR 6-Bolt Rear Hub is black with red DT logos. As it has a 135mm OLD and uses a conventional quick release to secure the rear wheel in the dropouts, it fits the majority of frames currently in the marketplace. Standard 6-bolt brake rotors will bolt right on. It runs on four separate stainless steel sealed cartridge bearings. The ratcheting freehub offers tool-free access for routine cleaning and lubrication, and the freehub body is made of aluminum to keep the package lightweight. It can be converted to use the DT Swiss RWS Thru-Bolt or the X12 Thru-Axle system by using the appropriate DT Swiss adapters.
