The DT 240s front hub has been a cult classic for awhile now. It gained a well-deserved reputation as a lightweight, durable, and supremely low-drag front hub, which culminated in its use in the entirety of the 2006 ProTour season by Team Phonak. They used Power Tap SL rear hubs, but their front hubs were always the distinct black-and-red 240s built onto a Zipp rim. This fame changed it from a cult classic to a flat-out peer of Campy Record and Shimano Dura Ace in the minds of knowing bike race fans.
The 240s is defined by its ultra-precision and its simplicity. But DT chose to press ahead with the benefit of new technology nevertheless, and with this comes the new DT 190 Ceramic hub. The 190 Ceramic is simply a 240s hub outfitted with ceramic cartridge bearings. Ceramic bearings are very hard and very round and they take a nice bite out of mechanical drag. After reducing aerodynamic drag, a reduction in mechanical drag is the best thing you can do to make yourself ride faster for a given power output.
It's available in 28 and 32 hole drillings, skewer sold separately.
The actual weight of the DT Swiss 190 Ceramic Hub is 106g.
