The Diamondback Mission 27.5 frame builds on the Mission series’ history, bringing the all-terrain "shredmobile" up to the latest standards. That entails bigger wheels and a geometry that’s keeping with the current crop of short stem, wide bar-equipped all mountain bikes. If your idea of the perfect ride involves high speeds, big jumps, and railed turns, the Mission makes a willing partner in crime.

Like the previous Mission, the latest version’s aluminum frame is built to withstand aggressive riders getting wild in hairy terrain. It runs an updated version of Diamondback’s Knuckle Box suspension platform, which has been redesigned to provide more support in the mid-stroke, which allows you to push the new Mission harder, especially in corners. The geometry has also become more aggressive. The head angle has been relaxed by half a degree to 66.5, and, when combined with the larger wheels, it provides significantly more stability, especially when initiating corners at speed. The seat angle has been steepened by a degree to 73, keeping you in a more aggressive position for technical climbing. And although the wheel size has grown, the chainstays have been lengthened by a modest 10mm, keeping the Mission responsive, while preserving the stability you need to ride fast.

Like the previous version, the Mission 27.5 has a tapered head tube for compatibility with the latest generation of long-travel single crown forks. The frame kit includes an FSA tapered headset, eliminating the guesswork in building it up. The rear end sticks with a Shimano E-Thru axle, with a modern 142x12mm interface. Also included in the frame kit is a RockShox Reverb Stealth seatpost, for on-the-fly seat height adjustments. And it’s rounded out with FOX’s supremely capable FLOAT X rear shock with a CTD adjustment scheme. It’s been custom valved and paired with a low-volume air can to perfectly match the leverage curve of the redesigned Knuckle Box.

The Diamondback Mission 27.5 frame is available in four sizes, from Small to X-Large, and in the color Red.
