Take it anywhere.

With 160mm of enduro-grade travel, Diamondback's Mission 2 GX Complete Mountain Bike makes a worthy companion for all-day, all-mountain adventures. Whether you're taking advantage of the nimble 27.5in wheels while navigating switchbacks through dense trees or tracking confidently across rock gardens, this capable machine will make you want to stay out all day long.

The Mission 2 features a frame made with 6061-T6 aluminum, a treated version of the metal with an ideal blend of low weight and high strength for long-term durability and plenty of responsiveness. The geometry, as in the entire Mission family, is relaxed and stable with a slack, 66.5-degree head tube angle and a long, low posture that sticks lines and tracks through corners. This year's version of Diamondback's Knuckle Box suspension platform remains efficient and responsive through the travel arc, with FOX's re-worked 36 Float fork lending 160mm of plushness to your ride and a FOX Float EVOL LV rear shock to complement it with 160mm of its own travel for hitting the kind of features that tend to hit back.

For consistent pedaling through a diverse mix of terrain, Diamondback includes SRAM's one-by GX 11-speed drivetrain on the Mission 2 for smooth, quiet shifting. You'll get a wide range of gear ratios without worrying about chain-slap or the added weight and complexity of a front derailleur. For easy, on-the-fly seatpost adjustments mid-ride, Diamondback includes a KS LEV Integra dropper post and remote. Rounding out the build kit, the Easton Arc rims paired with tubeless-ready Schwalbe Hans Dampf tires will grip when you need them to and roll when you don't.

Mission 2 = Downhill Beast

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Are you looking for a bike that can hammer 6ft drops, rip the bike park, and plow through rock gardens? Look no further! The Diamondback Mission 2 combines excellent components and a slacked out head tube angle which makes tackling all mountain obstacles a breeze. Refined frame geometry, Knucklebox suspension and 1x11 SRAM GX drivetrain make pedaling uphill much easier for a longer bigger bike like the Mission. If you have additional questions about the Mission 2 or other Diamondback bikes please feel free to reach out to me directly with questions.

2016 Mission 2

I'm over 200lbs and I ride hard. I have the XL model. After 3 rides, here's my review. Very solid, handles very well on steep downhill, hugs tight corners like a dream- which may be attributed to the low center of gravity rear shock. Climbs surprisingly well, front wheel stays in control. Smooth over bumps. Love the 160mm travel on both ends. I'm also sold on the 11x1 gearing-so efficient. I was a bit worried about the laid back head tub angle (66 degrees), but climbing isn't a problem and the bike just rides so nice. Can't think of any negatives yet. Maybe more riding will bring something out.
