Attention to detail - for every rider.

To understand a little about the pedigree of Diamondback bicycles, knowing the name Centurion Bicycles is paramount. Formed in 1969, Centurion began importing bikes into the United States. Over a twenty-year span, it evolved into Centurion/Diamondback and then simply Diamondback. In 1999, Raleigh Bicycles, a prominent brand with a 100-plus year history beginning in Nottingham, England in 1886, bought Diamondback, lending its road design expertise to the brand. Today, the two stand as separate entities under one owner, but they both call the Pacific Northwest their home.

Well-known for its prowess in mountain biking, Diamondback is continuously expanding its line into road cycling. Using the same attention to innovative design and geometry that infuses its off-road line, Diamondback features frames for virtually every rider — from the podium-placing criterium cyclist to the gravel road rider. The Century 4 Carbon Complete Bike features a build and geometry between the two extremes in order to provide you with comfort over the long haul.

Diamondback's Century 4 Carbon complete bike features a full carbon fiber frame. Unlike many frames, which are either manufactured using carbon bonded tubes or a monocoque design, Diamondback's proprietary Advanced Tube to Tube (ATT) design with "Core Control," conjoins both technologies. This method utilizes a monocoque head and down tube and joins it with a separate monocoque bottom bracket and chainstays These two structures form the "core" of the frame, and they work to provide both smooth handling, through front-end control, and rear stiffness for optimal power transfer to the drivetrain. The remaining tubes integrate with carbon welding, or as it's also know, Tube-to-Tube construction. This adds compliance to the frame, meaning that you'll never feel the harsh, bouncy ride that's so often associated with stiff carbon frames.

Diamondback's DB Carbon Road Fork completes the frame. It was constructed using Continuous Fiber Technology (CFT), meaning that full-length strands of carbon are laid from the top of the steerer tube to the bottom of the dropouts. Additionally, the fork is the product of Diamondback's Advanced Monocoque Molding Process (AMMP), which is the same process used on the Podium Equipe, its lauded road racing frame. Using this method, carbon plies are hand-wrapped around a polystyrene pre-form core, using a plastic bladder in the shape of the end-product. To achieve a precise mold during this layup process, the emerging fork is covered with a plastic cavity, which guarantees a perfect form. Silicone mandrel shells are then used to reinforce critical joint areas, so as to create smooth overlapping fibers at vital junctions. The entire fork is then coated for optimal fiber adhesion.

And while this is all impressive, Diamondback knows that the stiffness and feel of the bike are moot points if the bike doesn't fit. For this reason, Diamondback's Enhanced Performance Geometry was born. It combines the fit of its more aggressive carbon competition frames with a slightly higher head tube. As a result, you'll find that the geometry puts less strain on your back and neck. The more upright position also improves comfort for riders with less pelvic rotation and core stability.

The Diamondback Century 4 complete bike was designed with internal cable routing. It is Di2 compatible, but that's only necessary if you upgrade from the generous and durable component package. For the shift levers and front derailleur, it uses reliable Shimano 105 components. The rear derailleur is an Ultegra 6700 10-speed, the true workhorse of the Shimano line. The drivetrain is driven by FSA Gossamer Pro BB386 Compact cranks, a FSA CN910 chain, and a Tiagra CS-4600 12/30t cassette. The handlebars are Easton EA50 Ergos and the cockpit build is finished off with proprietary DBR components. You rest on a Prologo Scratch saddle, and the bike rolls on Shimano RS-11 Clincher wheels that are cased with Michelin Dynamic Sport 700c x 25mm tires.

Diamondback's Century 4 Carbon Complete Bike is available in the color Blue and in six even sizes from 50 to 60cm.
