Ride, run, and operate your phone with toasty hands.

Similar to DeFeet's standard DuraGloves, The ET version was made to protect cyclists' and runners' hands in cold weather conditions. The difference between the two, however, is that this "Electronic Touch" (ET) model lets you operate your touch screen phone through the use of specific yarns at the thumb, middle, and index fingers. As DeFeet puts it, the DuraGloves' usefulness comes "more from what they are not as much as from what they are." What it means is that their versatile, low-profile design is just right for physical exertion in cold weather, without being bulky and in the way.

The real beauty of the DuraGloves comes from the strategic blend of Coolmax, Cordura, and Lycra used in their composition. Cordura yarns were placed on the outside of the gloves, which creates an abrasion-resistant exterior that blocks enough icy air to keep you warm, while still allowing your hands to breathe while exercising.

For the palms, DeFeet omitted any padding in order to keep the overall streamlined design intact, in addition to providing maximum feel at the handlebars and levers. Gripp'y rubber DeFeet logos were placed throughout the palm, finger, and thumb areas, ensuring a tacky grip while riding. DeFeet finished off these versatile gloves with wide elasticized cuffs, which provide added coverage up at the wrists.

The DeFeet DuraGlove ET Gloves are available in four sizes from Small to X-Large and in the colors Black Cordura, Hi-Vis Yellow Cordura, and White Cordura.

the color is very good and is what is pictured. Good for the money and the ET works great with my iphone.

These are pretty good--not as good as the wool which get 5 stars. The gloves are well fitting and the touchscreen thing works alright. It is neither the best nor the worst as far as the touch fingertip things go. I don't have a big issue with cold hands so I've been able to wear these down to about 20 very comfortably. They stay pretty warm when wet which for me was unexpected. For the money you can spend on gloves, I don't think there is a better deal out there than DeFeet. I have been using several pairs of these and the wool version in double duty as cycling/general purpose gloves and they all have held up admirably.

As a note, I find the wool version of these gloves (not available on cc unfortunately) works more successfully on my touchscreen if the gloves' fingertips are moistened. This can be accomplished by water from the road, sweat, or by just getting a bit of spit on the fingertips of the gloves. Since I figured out that trick (by accident) I haven't seen much reason to go back to non-wool version.

A good cool weather glove...

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Defeet gloves are great. And the added conductivity for electronics is a plus.....if it worked well. Turns out that my screen protector is just enough barrier for it not to work and the colder it gets, the less you can rely on it. I still have to pull off my right glove to use my iphone. It's still a good glove though.

I can use my phone!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

These are just as nice as all the other Defeet knit gloves, with the added bonus of keeping my hands warm while texting. I use them as a liner when out in the snow.

Recently graduated to ET ? Loving it

Initially, I bought the Pink DeFeet DuraGloves to support breast cancer and to support my habit of loud colors. These are the same gloves, only they're compatible with touch screen electronic devices.
I've found them to be both durable and highly functional. The grip is exceptional, the lever feel at the fingers is reliable, and the glove as a whole will take a beating. In the spring, I wear these on their own, and in the winter, I've been layering them with the DuraGlove Wool Gloves - another awesome product. With the correct liner, you can easily wear these into the 20s, but I wouldn't wear them alone below 45 degrees. Overall, these are an awesome product, and the little extra coin in order to use your phone without freezing is a no-brainer.
