DeFeet ArmSkin $0.00
Occam's razor is deftly employed by DeFeet in the creation of their Armskins. It's a simple solution that only a sock-maker would think of. A sock cuff with a long tube stitched to it. That's all the Armskins are. The beauty is they're seamless and have incredible stretch to them. Easy to make, comfortable to wear, and they stay in place. Very little of the squirming and drooping that other styles of armwarmer can have.
But the Armskins are more than just a footless tube sock with a cuff. That's thanks to DeFeet's dual-knit technology. The inside is CoolMax for a soft surface and wicking. The exterior is nylon/Lycra for durability, stretch, and warmth. The cuff is 2.5" long
DeFeet makes two flavors of Armskins, this and the Armskins Lite. The Armskins are designed to be worn at 55-degees and below. The material is 49% CoolMax EcoMade, 47% Nylon, and 4% Lycra. DeFeet recommends washing the Armskins on cold and tumble drying on low, but the big no-no is bleach. Bleach on DeFeet accessories is a bad idea. Two sizes area available, Small/Medium and Large/X-Large. They say the dividing line is 5'9" and 160lbs (175cm and 72kg). At either dimension or smaller, go with the S/M, larger go with the L/XL. If you're in the middle, size up. If you've got a long wingspan of spindly arms, size up as the greater length will help them stay in place. The Armskins come in two colors, Black and White.
- How to Measure:
- For best results, use a tape measure.
- Measure around your hand at the widest point excluding the thumb.

Arm warmers are not meant to be a glamour item. Their simple job is in their name, yet many fail to live up to it. The ArmSkins are easy to put on/take off on the bike, fit snugly without slipping (L/XL on 6'2'' 185lbs with longish arms), pack away well into jersey pockets, and most importantly, succeed in keeping your arms warm. There are no annoying grippers and the non-wrist cuff portion seems to have been engineered to not even have a seam which could possibly be a source of irritation. I can wear these with a short sleeve jersey and base layer down to ~40 and be comfortable (but living in Minnesota probably has me more used to being a bit chilled than most). They are not windproof, but I generally find warmers that are too windproof a bit disconcerting (the feeling of having my arms windproofed while my torso remains unwindproofed is a feeling that really bothers me). I haven't tried them in the rain. If you like extremely technical gear these may not be for you. If you want something simple that works, pull the trigger.
I mainly use them for running. They are warm, dry quickly, very comfortable, and easy to put on/take off.
Huge fan of these, along with the Kneekers. The hold up a VERY long time and do not stretch out like Lycra / Spandex do. I think they really are the best on the market, at least that I've tried.
I use these for running for the time being because I lost my other Sugoi arm-warmers. They do the job... they are warm, very comfortable, and easy to put on/take off. I am 5'4" 120 lbs and got the S/M and the fit fine.
All in all, I am satisfied with this product.

The Black and the Patternskin photo are the same. Is this a case of photo error? I am looking for the regular black ones without the big DeFeet logo written on them. Thanks!
Order the regular black. The pattern-skins have the big DeFeet logo on them.

Durable and Warm
I use the arm skins for riding and running. Unlike other types of lycra arm warmers the defeets are held up on your arms by a tighter stitch at the top instead some type of rubber. After two years of use and multiple washings they are still holding up just as well as the day I go them.
