De Marchi Thermal Bib Shorts $209.95
Lightly insulated to keep you going.
Knowing that the first signs of winter aren't going to scare you off the road, De Marchi designed its new Thermal Bib Shorts for transitional fall and winter days. In terms of both fit and paneling, these bib shorts are similar to De Marchi's Contour Plus shorts, only that they rely on a heavier-weight fabric for a touch of insulation and compressive lower body support.
The Thermal bib shorts were constructed from panels of the venerable SuperRoubaix fabric. This is a supple, four-way stretch knit material with a lofted fleece backing. De Marchi selected this material for its light fiber weight and flexibility, and also to ensure that your body remains insulated and protected from the elements. The SuperRoubaix fabric is a nylon and Lycra blend, which, in addition to providing a lightly compressive hold on your leg muscles, also works to wick moisture away from your skin. De Marchi's stretch Lycra composes the bibs' panel, before it transitions into the shoulder tops and back panel. This material provides you with the ultimate in both support and comfort by smoothly wrapping your torso.
De Marchi placed an equal focus on implementing technical fabrics into the bib shorts as it did refining their fit. The goal was to create a pair of bib shorts with the perfect combination of freedom of movement, stability, and light insulation. This contoured fit was made possible using pre-shaped fabric panels that closely follow the body while in motion. When sewn together, these panels form somewhat of a three dimensional shape on their own, mimicking the body before even reaching your skin. The result is a pair of bib shorts that eliminate all unnecessary material, leading to the best fit possible.
De Marchi paired its restyled C-13 EIT insert into the thermal bib shorts. Known as its original endurance chamois, the C-13 EIT incorporates super high density, ventilated cushioning elements in correspondence with the ischial bones. Additionally, two front channels of open cell foam were placed in the perineal zone, which is more compressed to accommodate your body while in the cycling position. The specific "half-moon" seamless shaping perfectly contours to the shorts' paneling in order to eliminate bunching, while creating a middle channel where the body stays suspended for effective pressure relief and improved blood flow.
The De Marchi Thermal Bib Shorts are available in the color Black and in five sizes from Small to XX-Large. Please note: De Marchi relies heavily on European sizing, so please make your selection accordingly. And as with its other items in the Early Winter collection, the shorts were made with a fastening system at the leg panels to easily integrate De Marchi's Thermal Knee or Leg Warmers.

What community has to say
About as luxurious as bibs can be
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Part one: I wasn't sure I was sold on the idea of a thermal short - I usually just go to knickers or tights if it's cool. But I decided to give them a try because of point two, and they haven't disappointed. They're definitely warm, and are a good choice paired with knee or leg warmers for those chilly morning rides when you know the sun will be peaking out and warming things up.
Part two: the quality is stellar. De Marchi makes all (I believe) of their clothing in Italy, and they manufacture chamois and bibs for other well known brands. The feel and quality reminds me of a certain R**** brand, only these are even better. Love them and now am very excited to see this same series but in their spring/summer line.
