De Marchi SL Jersey $0.00
Take a close look at the SL Jersey and you'll see the attention to detail that De Marchi is known for, only here, it's addressed with a different approach than some of De Marchi's other jerseys. What we mean by this is that with the SL, De Marchi's designers targeted every angle of the jersey with an entirely new focus: weight reduction. After all, the SL in the title stands for 'super light,' which is precisely what De Marchi did with its new short sleeve jersey. Zippers, pockets, fabrics, you name it, they've all been chosen for their ability to deliver the best results for you on the bike, in the lightest way possible.
For the construction of the SL, De Marchi used three of its lightest fabrics. For the jersey's front and shoulder panels, Dry3 Pro was used primarily for its airy composition and, you guessed it, low weight. This material breathes better than most nylon/Lycra blends, and it rapidly transfers moisture away from your skin to its quick-drying outer-layer. Combined with these lightweight and thermo-regulating properties, Dry3 Pro also smoothly stretches in order to wrap and support your upper body and arm muscles while in the cycling position. At the back of the jersey, De Marchi chose its Dry3D Mesh for the entire rear panel. This generous application of mesh was chosen for its light weight, but also because it provides you with the ultimate in ventilation and comfort. Essentially, this was achieved by targeting this area of your body where moisture tends to collect in high concentration. The jersey's underarms were treated with mesh vents, completing the construction of the SL Jersey. By using two types of mesh and its Dry3 Pro material, De Marchi was able to create a warm weather riding jersey that not only breathes and supports your body, but also weighs in around a svelte 128 grams in a size Large.
De Marchi focused equally on implementing lightweight technical fabrics into the SL as it did to refining the jersey's fit. The goal of the new SL was to create a streamlined jersey with both a maximum freedom of movement and the most breathable, lightweight materials available. As a result, the jersey features a contoured cut. This contoured fit was made possible using the company's Body Framing Lite Technology as a means to stabilize the jersey while in the cycling position. This is accomplished using pre-shaped fabric panels that closely follow the body while in motion. When sewn together, these panels form somewhat of a three dimensional shape on their own, mimicking the body before even reaching your shoulders. The result is a jersey that eliminates all unnecessary material, leading to the best fit possible.
Equally valued by De Marchi are its finishing details. The SL Jersey is no exception, with its thin concealed front zipper, three rear panel pockets, and oversized, high-visibility reflective stripes. Small, square Blue De Marchi logos tastefully adorn the jersey's front and rear.
The De Marchi SL Jersey is available in six sizes from Small to XXX-Large and in the colors Black, Blue, Red, and White. Please note: De Marchi relies heavily on European sizing, so please make your selection accordingly.

- Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
- Fit:Runs small
looks like a great jersey and the material felt good but compared to the Castelli, I thought the zipper was really flimsy and likely to jam. It is too spendy of a jersey to risk a bad zipper.
It runs small (if you're an American). I usually wear medium but for Euro stuff, I'm a large.
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
I realize there's not much point reviewing a jersey that's no longer available, but I LOVE this jersey. I have several different jerseys from Castelli, Capo and others, and I must say this is by far my favorite. It's cool, comfortable and has a very complimentary fit (ie it trims 10 pounds off my fat ass... errr, gut :))
I'm only sorry I didn't buy more when they were available.
- Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I have been really happy with De Marchi products just like the other reviewer, but I was unfortunate with this one. I felt really nice out of the package, light and lots of breathability. The half zip kinda looked weird at the beginning and it looked poorly stitched at the bottom of the zipper junction with the shirt fabric. It turned out that after 2 rides the stitch came apart and a big hole was formed. I returned it and will buy a different model, maybe from De Marchi, maybe not.
It is a race fit, I had a Castelli that had the same fit but felt uncomfortable, this one was tolerable. I am a 6 foot at 185lbs wearing a XL, snug but okay since my chest are bigger than my stomach.
Lightweight racing/summer jersey
The fabric here is "superleggera" or superlight (hence "SL"). The fabric on the back is a really good looking, high-tech, breathable, diamond-pattern mesh. The fit is "race fit" and snug around the torso to prevent flapping in the wind.
And yes, 1/2 zipper in front. Hard to get on.
I own a lot of De Marchi gear. I have been really happy with all of my purchases. De Marchi cycle clothing is stylish, well made, always made in Italy, and family owned since 1946. De Marchi obviously takes a lot of pride in their quality. I think you will love your De Marchi purchase as long as it fits (which is true for all manufacturers).
FIT: Size-up one (unless you are very slim). I think this race-fit jersey fits slim and ave build riders best.
