Italian precision.

De Marchi's new Leggera collection was designed with an obsessive focus on fabric and fit details. Modeled after its warm-weather Pro Jersey, the Leggera uses 100% Italian materials, along with a fit and graphic treatment that was inspired by professional team kits, to create one of the most structured, body-supporting jerseys available. It's these seemingly small elements, combined with the brand's rich history, that continue to make De Marchi the top apparel choice of discerning cyclists around the world.

For the construction of the Leggera, De Marchi used its Dry3 Micro fabric for its airy composition and low weight. This material breathes better than most nylon/Lycra blends, and it rapidly transfers moisture away from your skin to its quick-drying outer-layer. Combined with these lightweight and thermo-regulating properties, Dry3 Micro also stretches in order to wrap and support your upper body and arm muscles while in the cycling position. By selecting a single fabric for the jersey's entirety, De Marchi was able to create panels that smoothly transition from one to another without any disturbance. This means that the jersey's seams all but disappear, which leads to better aerodynamics than other jerseys relying on several mixed fabric panels.

De Marchi focused equally on implementing lightweight technical fabrics into the Leggera as it did refining the jersey's fit. The goal of the Leggera was to create a streamlined jersey with both maximum freedom of movement and the most breathable, lightweight materials available. This anatomical fit was made possible using the company's Contour Technology as a means to stabilize the jersey while in the cycling position. This is accomplished using pre-shaped fabric panels that closely follow the body while in motion. When sewn together, these panels form somewhat of a three dimensional shape on their own, mimicking the body before even reaching your shoulders. The result is a jersey that eliminates all unnecessary material, leading to the best fit possible.

Equally valued by De Marchi are its finishing details. The Leggera is no exception, with its thin fully-divisible front zipper, three rear-panel pockets, and oversized high visibility reflective elements throughout. Small, square De Marchi logos tastefully adorn the jersey's front and rear.

The De Marchi Leggera Jersey is available in six sizes from X-Small to XX-Large and in the colors Green, Light Blue, Orange, and Red. Please note: De Marchi relies heavily on European sizing, so please make your selection accordingly.

Great if purchased on sale.

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I was hesitant to order online with the comments of its long torso, but the medium is my favorite jersey I own. (5'10",150lbs, climber's build) It breathes really well on hot days and doesn't bunch in the front.

As to craftsmanship, the material does snag on Velcro, so be careful. I didn't damage the jersey, but I wont be storing my gloves in the back pocket anymore.

Hi. I have not found that De Marchi's Dry3 microfabric will form pilling from wear. But, I have found that it will snag very easily on velcro (e.g., from gloves). So, be careful all.

Good call. I just tested with mine and that's the culprit. There are snags only where I reached to access the pockets. Make sure to fully close your gloves.

good materials/construction, but fit off

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I'm 5'10" / 165-lbs with 41" chest and I have several De Marchi jerseys (both long and short sleeve) and all are size large. this model fits a little larger than the others, especially in the length. I returned the jersey because of this fit issue, so I can't comment on how it holds up over time. if you are looking for the more traditional De Marchi fit, try their PT Jersey, it's closer to the standard sizing in my opinion.

Beautiful fit if sized correct

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I ordered the Red one a couple of weeks ago in Large but it was too long and too loose. Competitive Cyclist's customer service personnel were outstanding in the exchange and they sent me a Medium. I wear a Large in a Nalini but a Medium in DeMarchi. 5'10" 160#. Highly recommend that if you wear a Large in other Italian brands I.e. Nalini, Santini, and Giordana etc, size down to Medium in DeMarchi. This also applies to their bibs as I normally wear a Large and have both a Large and Medium in DeMarchi. The Large is too big but the Medium fits best 32" waist, 32" inseam.
Size issues notwithstanding, I love the quality and feel of the product and to me it is important to support an Italian manufacturers kit riding my old CIOCC vs. one from a sweatshop in China. Highly recommend DeMarchi. Size down and enjoy.

I own a lot of De March jerseys. In the past, I have found that one usually needs to size up +1 in De Marchi jerseys. This new Legerra jersey seems to be an exception (the new PT jersey too). Maybe De Marchi is changing their sizing system. Anyway, it is a good example that sizing is often unique to the individual garment (even within a single manufacturer). That is why this forum exists. Good review above, btw.

Better than Gelato

  • Gender: Male

Lightweight fabric of this Italian made jersey is perfect for hot Summer days. Emphasis of detail. This De Marchi jersey showcases the true pride of craftsmanship and the devotion the Italians put in every thing made in their small country, Ex, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Alfa Romeo. I'm 5"7 165lbs. 40" chest. I wear a large in Castelli but a medium in this DiMarchi. This jersey runs a little roomier than Castelli
I purchased this in both Red & Blue.

This Jersey is Cut Very Long

5'11, 165, 42 inch chest. The fabric is great and the fit in the chest is great too. However, this jersey is cut extremely long. It bunches up in the front and it has too much fabric in the back for my height. It will cover you butt and then some. If you're well over 6 ft this should work for you - otherwise buyer beware.

XL good fit for me too.

I'm 5'10" 180 lbs. The XL fit great (the XXL was too large). Form-fit but not skin tight. The fabric is thin, stretchy, and breathes really well. This is definitely a warm weather jersey. Leggera means "light."

I own a lot of De Marchi gear, it is really beautifully made. The quality of the fabrics and the sewing and the attention to detail is truly exceptional. All of De Marchi's clothing is made in Italy (family owned company) with obvious pride. This particular jersey is sized more generously than some of De Marchi's others (such as the SL race jersey). If you find the right size and fit: my highest recommendation!

XL is a good fit for me

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'm 6'3" 185lb with 42in chest. The XL was tight without being skinsuit tight. It was a good length too.
