We can't help ourselves --even in a world of undreamed of fabric technology, we still find our love of the Merino wool jersey impossible to shake. Like all things nostalgia, the wool jersey conjures up powerful emotions and imagery of the original hard-men that donned the De Marchi jerseys of yesteryear. Names like Basso, Bartali, and Bottecchia all put their time in wearing De Marchi wool. And in 1970, Cinelli's pro team mounted their pristine Supercorsas with the De Marchi Cinelli Wool Jersey across their backs. And in this spirit of revisiting the past glory of cycling, De Marchi returns to the roots of Italian cycling, accordingly making the new old and the old new.

Nine years prior to Antonio Colombo, and the now contemporary logo, there was simply the Cino Cinelli design and the beautiful bicycles that it accompanied. And though this jersey is absent of the biscione and giglio crest of Milano that was found in those days, the font remains in its original form. Attaching this lettering to the jersey is the finest form of embroidery available, what is called cornely embroidery. This chain stitch provides a durable attachment of the individual letters, yet it concurrently supplies a rustic sensibility to the detail of the jersey.

And furthering this painstaking level of attention, you'll find that De Marchi incorporated the original collar design, and, even if slightly impractical to our modern needs, the two buttoned chest pockets. In fact, the buttons securing the closure of the pockets have actually been made from mother of pearl. For the body of the jersey, De Marchi used imported Merino wool from New Zealand. This material is as functional as it is beautiful. And aside from its contribution to the aesthetic of this jersey, it's also naturally odor-resistant and highly breathable. It's for these reasons that De Marchi is limiting its production of this jersey to a mere 200 units worldwide.

In terms of fit, you'll find that this jersey is far more relaxed than contemporary De Marchi offerings. True to its replica mission, the jersey doesn't feature any grip at the sleeves or the waist hem. Essentially, the focus is more L'Eroica than criterium race.

The De Marchi Cinelli Wool Jersey is available in five sizes from Small to XX-Large and in the color Grey/white. Please note that supplies of this jersey are extremely limited, as only 200 have been produced worldwide.
