Ciclista Wool Jersey - Short Sleeve - Men's

De Marchi has been in the cycling clothing business since 1946, so you know that their Ciclista Wool Short Sleeve Jersey is the genuine article, save for the itchiness of old. For this modern version, De Marchi uses Superfine Merino Wool. It's a taslanized 50% Merino Wool, 50% acrylic knit blend. It has a fine hand like a spun yarn, though it's more consistent and won't pill like a spun yarn. And this Superfine Merino betters classic 100% wool yarns because it doesn't itch whatsoever. The Ciclista Jersey is intended to be worn directly against the skin, and its luxurious softness will make you wonder why we ever embraced polyester jerseys in the first place.

De Marchi cuts the Ciclista Wool Jersey just like they did forty years ago. They've always been known for their technical jerseys, and this one is no different. It's made to ridden in. To that end, it's a bit looser than modern synthetic jerseys, but it's cut to follow the body. The collar and sleeve cuffs are a doubled over rib-knit, and the hem at the bottom is simply a doubled layer of the knit, with an imperceptible seam. It has an 18cm metal zipper from YKK, the best in the business. In the back you'll find the three traditional patch pockets, and rather than being open at the top they have buttons if you feel the need to secure your stowed articles.

The De Marchi Ciclista Wool Short Sleeve Jersey is available in Black and White and comes in five sizes from Small to XX-Large. It's handmade in Italy and comes with De Marchi's rooster logo embroidered on the left breast.
