Ride better bikes in more places.

We’ve all done it. “We’ll just rent bikes when we get there, it’ll be great!” It’s never that great. Your bike is your bike for a reason, and the hours you’ve spent aboard it, and the millimeters you’ve tweaked everything can’t be replicated by even the best rental bike a vacation splurge can buy. Take your bike with you in the Dakine Bike Bag. It’ll fit road, mountain, and downhill bikes with 27.5 or 29-inch tires (or smaller, of course). It rolls on inline skate wheels and has an extendable handle for easy maneuvering, and there’s a padded divider that sits between your wheels and your frame, in addition to the exterior foam.

  • Compatible with road, mountain, CX, and downhill bikes
  • Measures 51 x 30 x 12.5 inches
  • Padded divider separates wheels and frame
  • Internal pockets for ride necessities
  • Wheels and handle

I use this Bag to carry my Santa Cruz 5010 Size M and Enve Rims and the bike arrive in perfect condition. You just need to be use to use the bag accesories correctly.

Can this bike bag be shipped via fedex or ups in lieu of a standard cardboard bike box? I am going on a trip and will be able to fly with the bike one way and then need to ship it back.

I talked to UPS directly and they told me that as long as the bike is in a case they can ship it. As long as the bike is not being shipped on its own (not in a box or case) they will take it.

How long does it take to pack a road bike in the bag? One on line review for a mountain bike suggested it takes 2 hours, which seems like a long time.

Responded on

David - no bike case takes 2 hrs to pack. Its the same process to take off wheels, seat /post and handle bar. Tops 10 mins to pack them in the bag and you get better as you do it more often,

It appears the bag is designed in such a way that removal of the head set is required? Or can one just remove the handle bar and slide it into the bag? Not sure exactly what is required to safely store the bike. Bob

Bob, the headset is the interface that the fork rides on. I believe you're referring to the fork? If so, it is not required for removal in most cases. Downhill forks will need to be removed some of the time. I hope this helps. See the attached picture.

Can you clarify what you mean by "dual crown forks would need to be removed some of the time"? Thank you

Traveling to Europe this summer and looking at bike cases/bags. Will a small tri bike fit in the Dakine bag?

Responded on

I don't think there would be an issue packing a small tri-bike in this bag. You would need to remove the handlebar and any aero bars as well. I hope this helps.
