DAKINE Bike Bag $0.00
Instead of accruing fees aboard awkward and questionable-quality rental bikes, pack your beloved ride in the Dakine Bike Bag. This big and protective bag fits road, mountain, and even full-on downhill bikes.
A padded divider keeps wheels from scratching the frame, and Dakine added several internal pockets for pumps, tubes, pedals, and other essentials. The Bike Bag also includes an extendable handle and urethane wheels so it easily rolls, even when fully loaded.
The Dakine Bike Bag measures 51 x 30 x 12.5 inches and comes in the color Black. Please note: The bag accommodates both 27.5in and 29er bikes.

I use this Bag to carry my Santa Cruz 5010 Size M and Enve Rims and the bike arrive in perfect condition. You just need to be use to use the bag accesories correctly.
Can this bike bag be shipped via fedex or ups in lieu of a standard cardboard bike box? I am going on a trip and will be able to fly with the bike one way and then need to ship it back.
I talked to UPS directly and they told me that as long as the bike is in a case they can ship it. As long as the bike is not being shipped on its own (not in a box or case) they will take it.

How long does it take to pack a road bike in the bag? One on line review for a mountain bike suggested it takes 2 hours, which seems like a long time.
David - no bike case takes 2 hrs to pack. Its the same process to take off wheels, seat /post and handle bar. Tops 10 mins to pack them in the bag and you get better as you do it more often,

It appears the bag is designed in such a way that removal of the head set is required? Or can one just remove the handle bar and slide it into the bag? Not sure exactly what is required to safely store the bike. Bob
Can you clarify what you mean by "dual crown forks would need to be removed some of the time"? Thank you

Traveling to Europe this summer and looking at bike cases/bags. Will a small tri bike fit in the Dakine bag?
I don't think there would be an issue packing a small tri-bike in this bag. You would need to remove the handlebar and any aero bars as well. I hope this helps.
