Description

Training first

The CycleOps JetFluid Pro redefines the standard for fluid-based indoor trainers. The Pro Series frame offers a much wider platform than previous Cyclops trainers. The resistance unit operates at cooler temperatures for quieter workouts, longer bearing life and a more consistent power curve. Each flywheel is individually balanced during manufacturing; this helps reduce noise and bearing wear while concentrating weight where it will most contribute to inertia so that a single missed pedal stroke won't slow you the equivalent of 5 mph. The JetFluid Pro's most attractive feature may be its resistance curve, which resembles the way wind resistance increases exponentially when you're out on the road. Its ability to mimic the resistance found in real-world accelerations make it a winner for the nastiest interval workouts. The Pro Series frame is even easier to set up than its predecessors and can accommodate every wheel size from 650C to 29in. Leveling the trainer for an upright workout is now an option, while it remains quick to put away.

  • PowerTuned technology has four distinct resistance curves: easy setting, flat road, interval, and hill
  • Quick-Lock cam lever for easy and fast installation/removal of your bicycle
  • Single-leg leveling adjustment for varying surfaces
  • Skewer Clamp centers bike and holds it securely
  • Two position mounting bracket accommodates 29’’ wagon wheels
  • Cooler operating temperature for longer life

Best Trainer I've used!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This trainer is great! Love how the resistance increases slightly as you ride on it. Quieter than ones I've tried before, lighter as well.

One of the best

i've been riding this trainer for a couple of years and really enjoy it. It has a great road feel and an excellent choice for off season riding. I get such a good workout with this trainer I often times ride it during the season to get a quality workout. It very quiet and light weight so transporting it is easy and you don't have blast your ears with the volume on your TV. Highly recommended.

Great Trainer

I have tried a slew of trainers, many of which were way more expensive than this one. This trainer is super quiet, feels like road riding, and offers massive resistance (~600 watts). I think this is the best trainer around and is very well priced.

Solid trainer, solid rides.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I would recommend this trainer to anyone seeking simplicity and ruggedness in one package. Extremely easy set up coupled with solid construction gets my approval. In full spin the trainer is pretty quiet compared to others, the volume on my imac could easily overcome the white noise.

Helps get you to the next level

Even in the offseason when you are able to ride in the outdoors this helps bridge the gap so you don't fall behind the competition and keep your endurance and stamina where it needs to be.

How does it attach? Do you have to take the rear wheel off or how exactly does this attach to the trainer?

Best Answer Responded on

No need to take the rear wheel off. You kind of just set the rear wheel in and bolt it on...

Is there a big difference between the the CycleOps Jet fluid pro and the Fluid 2 trainer? If so, what is it? I can't decide between the two and am wondering if the Jet Fluid is worth the extra $$$.

do using trainers put bad stress on a carbon fiber frame? I've been riding on a cyclops magneto and I keep hearing this creaking noise and I have no idea where it's coming from and I'm getting pretty paranoid about it. I ride a Madone 5.2 It seems like it might be coming from my seat cap or saddle because when I stand and pedal it goes away. Any thoughts?

My Specialized A1 Alum frame creaks when my form gets sloppy and I start putting too much lateral pressure on the bike. Also, you may have the lock too tight. I can't answer on carbon frame damage... Maybe see if the manufacturer has any notes on it affecting the warranty.

I am a paraplegic so my bike is a handcycle. http://www.sportaid.com/quickie-shark-s-handcycle.html If you don't know what it looks like. My question is can it be spun backwards and still be able to change how hard it is to cycle? Because on a handcycle the front wheel is the power wheel.

My Trainer

I find this trainer easy to train on and its a great to warm up on before a race. Its light weight, easy to carry around. What I like the most is how the trainer adds resistance while you peddle faster adding intensity to your warm up.

Solid Trainer

Easy to use trainer. Folds flat for easy storage. Relatively low noise compared to most trainers. Easy to adjust tension.

Like it

This is my first trainer, and in the last two months I have to say that I am happy with my purchase. I will say that it is simple to set up and get riding. The leg adjustment makes it easy to level the unit, and I have no problem standing up on the pedals if needed. It is very stable. It does feel like I can simulate riding on the road pretty well with this. The only downside to the unit is that when you really push the pace, the whirring noise level does climb quite a bit. I ride with my ipod earbuds in, however, and I don't even notice it. But without, it is hard to hear a TV without turning the volume up a bit. So far, no problems at all except the increased wear on my back tire of my training rims.

Can a trainer be used with my mountain bike tires or would it be too rough? Thanks.

Best Answer Responded on

They can but they will be super noisy! I ran my MTB tires on my trainer only once before I swapped them for a smoother slick tire. It will make a world of a difference.

Great trainer - incorrect description

First - there are not four settings, just one on this trainer.

The JetFluid Pro is well-built. I have used it over a year with no problems. It is more resistive than riding outdoors. It is equivalent to riding up a 2% grade with a headwind. It is called Pro for a reason! Ride this thing all winter and come spring you will be dropping all your rivals.
