Good first impression

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Just received these CW-X insulator tights and tried them on a run today. Currently, it's late winter in northern Utah - so it was around freezing with some rain/sleet mix. These compression tights fit very comfortably and provided sufficient warmth.

As a size reference: I'm 6'4" ~190lbs with a 33" waist and 34" inseam. I went with XL after consulting the size chart.

Great tights for the money

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have used these 50+ times while skiing and running in cold weather
Maybe its partially mental but my legs feel less fatigued after a day of skiing when I wear these
I have also worn them on multi day ski trips - they are far better than synthetic long underwear for staying fresh smelling - they are also much cheaper than the Skins alternative and have the same performance

i've heard that cw-x has short length.

Walden,

I'm 6'4" ~190lbs with a 33" waist and 34" inseam. I went with size XL and am pleased with the fit. The legs go to the top of my ankles.

Great except for one thing...

I bought these tights to run in during the winter months and I live in central Idaho, so it gets pretty chilly up here. The warmth factor is great! The fit factor is great! The way they feel when I'm running is great! I especially like the supportive feeling around my knees. My only negative remark is that they have a seam which runs down the entire length of the crotch. The seam is not flat locked, and runs from the front waistband down and up to the back waistband. I wore them on an 8 mile road run without underwear and learned the hard way it was a bad idea! I don't remember reading that you needed to wear underwear with them, but I guess that's totes necessary! The pain was pretty severe, and I almost quit running, called my wife and had her come pick me up...

Anyway, these are a great product and there's nothing wrong with the pair I bought. I'm just an idiot, and I hope you will learn from my mistake.

Peace!

First tights, great so far. Pretty warm.

As my first pair of tights, I have nothing with which to compare. They seem very good. I've been running in cold humid weather (around -5 Celsius) and I've never felt cold during my run. They're definitely not wind-proof (not that they claim to be), I can feel the breeze when I walk outside before my run. They support very well and I it's possible that I'm experiencing less knee pain during longer runs. They're very tight, but they don't show your junk, which is nice. And they look cool! Overall I'm very happy.
