Chains wear out, how does a lifetime warranty work on a chain?

Responded on

When you buy a new bike, the lifetime warranty is usually only for the frame and fork along with anything else with the frame manufacturer's name on it. Warranties do not apply to any component on the bike. If possible, some components might have their own warranties, but yes, chains do wear out, and any warranty would not cover "normal wear and tear."
