Description

Style isn’t just about your circa 1973 Nishiki.

As washed-up bike couriers, we wish we’d had the super-stretchy and breathable Cutter Tech Knickerbocker to tackle dedicated rush filings in the soggy Seattle weather. Carry your U-lock (a.k.a. ‘enforcer’) in the back pocket and forget about skipping it across the pavement around a corner. When the sky decides to tinkle on your parade, be sure and thank the Nylon Stretch Softshell material for its water-repelling radness. Too bad your jacket doesn’t feature the same material.

  • Nylon Stretch Softshell for durability and protection after you wash-out on a manhole cover
  • Articulated fit won’t bunch up when you’re in the saddle
  • ¾-length prevents contact with drivetrain

All around WIN

Cutter hit it outta the park with these. Made to pedal, designed extremely well, bombproof... Well done Cutter.

Great product

When the weather turns colder these are great. The fit is perfect and the fabric repels water. I picked these up on CL clearance. Wish I would have bought another pair.

Excellent Product

I just got these and wore them around the house a day os so then went for a little 14 miler this afternoon in cool weather. I did wear a cycling short underneath but this short is very functional as a mid-season Irish misty run or ride go-to 3/4 pant. The material is stretchy but thick enough to give you a protective layer from the elements when you hit them, pockets the right size for your normal gotta haves, and the length is mid calf on me (Large on 5'9" frame). So far so good, will know more as I put it to use. I live in the SW and this is a perfect addition to my kit....

II got it new on GearTrade and am embarrassed at how little I paid...what a steal!

Make great shorts too.

I bought these on Bonktown largely due to the great price and stellar reviews, but was a bit wary of getting knickers. They fit well, but I decided I would get much more wear out of shorts than knickers. Took them to my local drycleaner/alteration shop and for $10 they converted them to shorts. They are great for both riding and general around town wear. The fabric sheds most spills and doesn't stain easily, so great travel shorts when you want to pack light.

Awesome

I love these, their comfy and useful. I like that their a little baggy, which makes walking from the bike rack to my desk in the office, a little more appropriate (versus tights). But they're not so baggy that they get hung up on the seat when mounting/dismounting, nor do they touch the chain or other dirty parts.
I wish they had a full length version for the deep winter. ..although I've been wearing cycling full length tights under them.

These pants rock

Small size fit my 30" waist perfectly.
Tough yet comfy fabric.
Just the right number of pockets.
Articulated knees rule.
Good fit, great look.
Waterproof = picks up less grime, looks clean all the time.
Bonus loop with bubble snap actually comes in handy for gloves etc.
Purchased on chainlove for way less than they're worth, and I'll buy a second pair if they pop up again!

Get these!

Just got these and I love them! They fit true to size and are not baggy by any means. Just a good fitting pant. I am 6'2" 190 lbs and a 34" waist and the large is indeed 35 inches which is not big deal. They fit great, not too baggy, not too tight! Length is perfect! The stretchy material is awesome as well, and I am sure they will be warm! I love these pants already, stoked!

Any other sizes (m - l) coming in soon?

These are the 2011s so any new size availability would be the new 2012 version, which might be different, and unfortunately it will not have the 20% discount. Unless hucknroll has something up there sleeve, which seems to be quite common... your out of luck.

runs small

I own both last year's version of these pants (color "almost black") and also this year's model (color asphalt gray). The new color is a medium gray; somewhat lighter in color than the photo. More importantly, the new pants are an inch shorter than the old version. The shorter length causes the pants to regulalry pull up over my knees when I am pedalling. Very annoying. I had to switch to a bigger size, but now the waist is so big that I have to wear a sturdy belt.

If you can get them to fit you, these are very nice pants for commuting or casual riding.

Hey everyone,

I've got four pairs of these bad boys. I love 'em. I wear them even when I'm not pedaling or standing like the guy in the pic. My original two pairs (the old "Not Black" color) have slowly lost their water-repellant property. I'm sure the new ones will, too, eventually. What's the washing machine additive that supposedly restores this quality? While I'm asking, if anyone's tried that additive, can you comment on how well it worked? Thanks, all.
Cheers,
-Alex
PS Did I mention I love these knickers?

warm knees

my knees were warm while i ninja kicked a hijacker on the jordan parkway. punk bitch is lucky he didn't get chain whipped. plus, the fools blood didn't get through the waterproof material to my sweet merino shorts.

Are these knickers cycling specific to the point that you wouldn't wear them around town and out and about?

Responded on

I wear them all the time. Very comfortable and the bend in the knee isn't exaggerated.

Hi, are the sizes true to size or do they fit small or big? I usually wear a size medium but I don't see you have any in stock.

Responded on

Hey,

They are pretty true to size, we should be getting more mediums in any day now so I'd hold out for those.

Responded on

I bought some of these last year (color "almost black"). The new "asphalt" model runs a little smaller. In particular, the length is an inch or two shorter than last year. I don't have real long legs, but the size medium is too small for me because the hem keeps pulling over my knee when I am biking. I had to return them for a size large (and use a sturdy belt to keep the waist secure).

Responded on

Most other reviews agree that the sizes are true.

i wear them to run

purchased off of one of those SAC sites. this review is for the asphalt color.

they were great when i was riding but i've sinced stopped riding and have picked up running. i wear them during the cold morning or wet runs. theyre pretty stretchy and don't look too bad. the only other running pants i could find are the spandex types... no thanks.

Great fitting and not restricting

These shorts are great. You can use them for anything, road, mtn or around town. This is my 3rd pair of 3/4 shorts or knicker shorts, and these are the best ones yet. Close fitting so they are not baggy or flopping in the wind, but not too close to feel anything like roadie gear.

a little baggy

Disclaimer: I've only tried these on, I've yet to wear them while riding.

I wear a 32 and went with the mediums. I'm curious if the small would fit me better. These fit well enough around the waste, but are definitely more baggy than I'd prefer. I think they will be great once I'm riding though. Pockets are great, material is great.

Let the ballet dancers sweat in spandex.
This Cutter knickers rock especially for long rides.
Ever since this picture taken, I ordered two more of them.
