5.0 out of 5 starsGreat asset to my bike

This is a great, relatively light weight tool that slips easily into a rear jersey pocket or camelback. Small and nice design. Anyone who rides a bike should have a multitool and this is a good choice

    Best Bike Multi-Tool

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I have had this tool for close to 3 years now and it has never failed me. There are enough tools packed into this small package for most adjustments and many roadside repairs.

The materials are top-notch and the weight in hand is solid, but not heavy. Crank Brothers designed the Multi-17 with the perfect balance of common tools using many Hex wrenches, a chain breaker, Torx-25 for your hydraulic brakes, and even spoke wrenches.

If you don't have a bike specific multi-tool yet, this is the one to get. If you do already have a multi-tool, replace it with this one.

    Super stellar

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I purchased this tool specifically for bike commuting to work. Thus far, I'm super impressed with its durability, versatility, and packability. This little homie is lightweight yet burly - super convenient and fits in my Fi'zi:k saddle bag perfectly and is barely noticeable in my Timbuk2 commuter bag when I've just thrown it in there for convenience sake. It's definitely saved my butt a handful of times enroute to work. And it's got just enough tools and not one too many. Plus the gold is on point - supa fly.

    Trail Worthy

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I picked one of these guys up at the beginning of the summer and realized immediately that it is a must have. This little tool has gone with me everywhere- from road rides to mtn rides it has not let me down. Not too heavy and fits wherever you want it to. Definitely worth the purchase.

The Tool to Get It Done

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

This tool has bailed me out of more situations than I can count. Adjusting derialuers, straightening bars, fixing chains... it does it all.

Has all the tools that you need for a bike and is contained in a small/light package. Only thing it doesn't have is small pliers, but that's more of a luxury item than a necessity.

    tools tools tools

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I have one, my GF has one, my dad has one, most my friends have on. Great slim tool that dose almost everything you need.

The chain breaker can be a little tough to operate but it has always done the job.

    Don't be a fool, carry a tool!

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

Picked up this tool because I started riding by myself a lot and wanted to be prepared. It's a great multi-tool to have on hand for yourself or your crew for when little fixes on the trail are necessary. It's the perfect size to throw in a saddle bag or a pack, depending on your style. Highly recommended, its saved me some troubles a few times already!

    My favorite multi-tool

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This is by far my favorite multi-tool. It's machined well and extremely reliable. Everything on it works without fuss or drama. The chain tool is solid and the allen wrenches don't round the heads of the bolts on my bike when torque is applied. I've had a few expensive bicycle multi-tools that looked fancy but didn't deliver. Some multi-tools even rounded the heads of my bolts after a few uses, rendering them nearly useless. This thing always works. It's machined extremely well and locks into the bolt head solidly, letting you apply the appropriate amount of torque without worrying about wrecking your hardware. I even take this multi tool with me to races and use it for little emergency adjustments that might arise. The 8 mm wrench is even long enough for me to remove my Crank Bros Candy and Eggbeater pedals when needed, which is often not the case with bicycle multi-tools. I like this tool a lot. Must have.

    Perfect!

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Unless you like walking your bike back on your shoulders or dealing with that uncomfortable seat position...or those crooked handlebars from that gnarly gap you just came short on, then you need this!

It has everything you need including chain tool.

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

This tool saved me from walking my bike home! It has also come in handy when a friend needed to make a quick fix to their bike. I love this tool! It's small and built well. Feels like it will last a lifetime!

    Great for your saddle bag

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Works great, is small and light and fits well with everything else in my saddle bag on my road and mtn rides. Mine are both old and rusty now, but work great still.

    Solid Multi-Tool

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

Functional and compact, like that it comes with thick rubber band that holds everything in place.

    Everything you need.

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This tool has everything you need and nothingthat you dont. A big plus for me is the rounded edges for pocket confort. Ive fallen a few times wit a leatherman in my pocket and the leatherman can cut you up pretty bad. But this tool is nice and smooth. Fairly lightweight too.

    17 is the magic number.

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

This tool comes with everything you would need (and no filler extras) to fix just about anything on your whip when you're out and about. Well designed, easy to use and durable. Small enough you could put it in your pocket if you really needed to.

    Best multi-tool out there

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I've had one of these since CB came out with them, and have carried it with me on every ride. I finally got a multi-10 for the road bike because the 17 felt like overkill, but I picked up an additional 17 tool for my wife when she started riding mountain bikes. It's durable, well-designed, and has everything you need to fix just about any mechanical problem.

    Useful

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

Like the compact size for plenty of tools. Feels like a quality build with good materials. Only complaint would be the stiff rubber band like thing that holds it all together. Once you lose that the tools will be loose and all over the place. Overall though, quality little tool

That's why I stepped up and got the 19. Comes with a metal case, no band to lose or stretch out.

A must have in your saddle bag!

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I carry one of these in my small saddlebag and it has a tool for anything I've ever had to tighten, adjust, or fix out on the road. Well made-I can't envision ever needing to replace unless I lose it.
