warm, windproof, loose fitting

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I like the warmth, durability and windproof nature of the leg warmers; however they are very loose fitting on my legs and i'm only _ok_ with that. All in all they are good but not great

Vulnerable Leg Gripper

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Liked the product for fit, warmth and construction.
After 5 months of use the leg gripper on one of them began to separate at the seam revealing a hole that will only get worse over time. Upon examination of the other leg gripper it was showing similar signs of seam failure. Craft USA customer service directed me back to Competitive Cyclist for the return. Although apologetic Craft didn't stand by their product and their lackluster effort to resolve my product issue undermines my confidence in the brand.

Good down to the 30's

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I will wear these down into the mid 30's assuming the wind is not crazy. Once the windchill goes under 30 i will switch to the big guns but they they also have good range. I can wear these into the 50's and have no issues. I will say that if you are racing in them and its over 40-45 degrees you will get very warm and i would suggest a knee only warmer.

Responded on

Can you tell me what the "big guns" are? I have the same issue but dont have a product that does well under 30 and I'm curious to find one.

Responded on

For the "big guns" i use my normal bibs, these tights, and an additional pant length tights from pearl izumi ( i think its the elite barrier). That is good to single digits but will be very hot if its over 30. I will also just use the pearl izumi pant tights over my bibs and they are really warm too. I have had bad luck with bib tights, the gore ones i own are very nice but you are still cold once it goes below 30-35. I like the pant length tights because i can remove them easily during a ride if it warms up and put them back on if need be.

Great leg warmers

Overall I give these high ratings. I dont know if I would call these winter leg warmers but they keep me toasty into the mid to upper 40's range. Ankle zips would be nice.
