Description

Fights wind and rain so you can pedal like a demon.

With nice road shoes cresting the $350 mark, the last thing you want to do is get them soaked and muddied on a wet ride. The Craft Bike Rain Bootie will give your feet supreme protection from wind and rain while making sure that your kicks are spared the majority of the insults from sloppy roads.

Craft uses fabric that is highly elastic so these booties fit like a second skin over your shoes. The top of the bootie has a Velcro strap, which makes it possible to secure the top closure tightly over your bib tights or directly against your skin if you’re wearing knickers. The three-quarter zipper at the back means that, even though the booties are effectively form-fitted on the foot, you’ll be able to get them on and off without breaking into a sweat. Of course, the material is also windproof and waterproof.

Kevlar reinforcements have been added to the heel and nose to make them more durable for walking to and from the bike rack outside the cafe. Craft added reflective print to keep you visible in the darker conditions you’ll likely be riding in while wearing them. The Craft Bike Rain Booties come in Black and are available in sizes X-Small through X-Large.

2012 Craft Rain Bootie way too small!!

Purchased the XXL Rain Bootie for my road shoes, size 47. There is no way to stretch them on the shoes. They seem 2 to 3 inches to short. Returned. Seem adequately made. Never worn.

Small... but they work

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I wear size "42" M077 Shimano MTB shoes and found the Medium Booties a stretch to cover the heels. But after they go over and zipped up, they were fine. No squeeze during pedaling (2-hour rides usually) and did a good job keeping shoes dry in light rain. Not sure how long the stitching will last with the stretching when putting it on. Three rides in, pretty satisfied with the booties, though a Large would have been a better choice for me.

Super small, not very watertight

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I wear size 38 and had to get a M and even then it's a tight squeeze.

They leaked the first time I used them in heavy rain. Now they work okay, but I don't feel secure about them.

Booties go on and off with ease, are waterproof and you won't feel the cold.

Poorly Made

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The material is stretchy and light, but when you stretch it over your shoes, the seams immediately start coming apart. I suppose you get what you pay for, I would recommend getting a higher quality item

Are these rain booties totally waterproof so that the bike shoes do not get wet?

Responded on

Hey Janet,

Yes, these will withstand pretty much any rain you can throw at em'. The only wetting issue you should have would be if you were to submerge your feet (perhaps a deep puddle or pothole). Being that the bottom is cut out you can see why this would be a problem.

What size in Europe is equivalent in size XXL and XL?

I used this answer to buy size large for my husband's 45 sized road shoes. The large barley stretched enough to fit my 43 size road shoes. I wonder if the XL would be enough for the 45 size?
