My second set. These tires are a great all around tires. Puncture resistant, only had one flat on my first set due to those street sweepers wire.

THE best tire to prevent flats - PERIOD.
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- 700x25mm
- Weight:
- 225
I've ridden across the US and the UK on these tires without ONE flat. I wouldn't install any other tire on my road bikes if I'm riding significant road miles or touring. Yorktown VA to San Francisco - 4096 miles - not one flat. John O'Groats to Lands End - 1100 miles - not one flat. German Engineering and Manufacturing - can't be beaten. Don't buy any other road tire if you want peace of mind against flats.

I don't know what happened to all you people that are complaining. Maybe you just didn't install the tire correctly?? I've ridden 15,000 miles on three different pairs of these tires and I've had three flats two of which were my fault. I even ride these on gravel roads and never had a puncture.

Do Not Buy This Tire
- Familiarity:

I bought this tire earlier in the season and just mounted it now. Tire was somewhat hard to install but it when on after a bit. So all set to go, tire inflation; check, front and rear lights on; check, water bottles; check, cash and credit card; check. All righty down the driveway, down the hill 50 feet, then bump bump bump and the side wall bead shredded. Not even 100 feet and this tire is headed to the trash can. I did try to return the tire, but BC would not allow it as I purchased the tire more than 90 days ago. I've now reached out to Continental Tire and maybe I'll hear back&

A good set of tires for my daily bike, very solid for rough roads or uneven pavement.

The Conti Gatorskin has been my go to tire for a few years now, before that I tried several different tires and never got the miles, performance and (smooth) ride I get on these. I ride 700*23 (@ 115psi) upfront and 700*25 (@ 95psi) in the rear. I run this set up on both my "A" (summer) bike and my Winter bike. I watch other riders change flats ( running on "cheap" tires) all year long. Some people say these tires a too hard to mount onto their rims. The tires are a bit tuff to get on the 1st time, I have Enve SES 4.5 and Campy Alloy wheels, but I can do it without tire levers (although my thumbs are a bit sore afterwards) if necessary. I no long race, I do however ride about 9,000 to 10,000 miles a year. And ALL those miles on Conti Gatorskins!

Tire Quality

I had these tires for less that six months and after a second flat, I discovered a slashed on the wall side, which I fixed with a patch to make back home. The quality is not as advertised for puncture resistance.

Great tire for winter roads !
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- 700x28
After years of not wanting to sacrifice performance for durability , this winter I gave in and replaced my Vitorria Corsa G' s ( an outstanding tire ) with a pair of Gatorskins. After coming home from rides with another cut or two every time out from the ice melt material on Pennsylvania roads. I was surprised to find that the performance drop off was not noticeable . They feel great and are STRONG. The shoulders of roads where most of the ice melt debris winds up had no effect on the Gatorskins. After about a thousand miles, one small cut, no flats ! The cut could have been from glass which is an increasing problem as the the pickup truck driving set seems to be having trouble reaching the weeds when throwing there empty cheap vodka bottles out the window and breaking them on the shoulder . GREAT TIRES !
