Your front and rear tires play different roles when it comes to your bike's handling, so Continental engineers paired together the Grand Prix Attack/Force Clincher Tire Combo to complement each other. The Attack is a front-specific tire built to offer maximum cornering traction. The Black Chili rubber compound is custom tailored for extreme grip in all conditions, and it ensures road-hugging compliance. The Attack front tire is slightly narrower at 22mm to give you an ideal balance between traction and aerodynamics. The Force rear tire has a high-mileage Black Chili tread, engineered to withstand the greater demands placed on a rear tire when you're constantly driving forward. The 24mm profile is an ideal choice for comfort, rolling resistance, and durability.

Continental's Black Chili rubber compound was first developed for the Moto GP crotch rocket circuit, and they've brought it over to their top-end bike tires. Super-tiny carbon black particles are incorporated into the rubber formula to provide benefits along three lines:

1. The tiny size of the Black Chili particles allows them to mold to the road surface more readily. It gives the tire greater ability to conform to imperfections. Better contact with the road means better grip in demanding situations such as high speed cornering.

2. Since the Black Chili particles are so small, more particles fit into the contact patch of the tire -- reducing tire wear and increasing tire longevity.

3. The Black Chili particles are literally more flexible, which reduces the rolling resistance of the Grand Prix tires.

The Continental Grand Prix Attack/Force Clincher Tires each have a dynamic siped tread pattern that is specific to their purpose on the front or rear of your bike. They both have a Vectran layer sandwiched in place between the tread and the 330tpi casing for added flat resistance.

Here's what others have to say...

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Good racing set. Grips well in dry and wet. Very similar feel to the GP4s but with what seems like slightly lower rolling resistance. At least I can tell that the casing is not as beefy as the GP4s.

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Grippy tire provides confidence on descents, great under wet conditions. Only issue developed sidewall tear in the front attack tire during routine ride, after 6 months of daily use on short and long rides.
