The right properties for handling and speed.

Continental brings all its technical tire expertise to bear on the front- and rear-specific Grand Prix Attack/Force Clincher tire set. The narrow Attack tire streamlines your front wheel and grips through corners and on fast descents, and its tread pattern is also designed to channel water for added confidence. The wider Force tire improves the rear contact patch and uses a damn-the-torpedoes tread pattern for better acceleration.

Both Continental tires feature the specially-formulated Black Chili rubber compound. By now, you're no doubt familiar with this stuff, but it bears recapping its key points. Black Chili nets 26% less rolling resistance, 30% more supple grip, and a 5% increase in tire life over similar models. The tires' life is also saved from catastrophes that would cripple other tires courtesy of the lightweight Vectran puncture protection, which is harder than Aramid and five times stronger than steel. It's also lighter than nylon thread, so there's no weight penalty attached. Wear indicators show when the tires are ready to put out to pasture.

Conti FTW

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great set of tires. Fast, smooth, and roll great. Easy to mount up, supple casing. Haven't had any issues with these tires or any Conti tires for that matter.

Would these work on the Mercury M5 wheels? My concern is the front tire being too narrow for the width of the rim.

I'm a bit late, sorry. My intuition would say that yes, these tires would work on those wheels. Even though the M5s are listed with a 24mm rim that is measured at the widest part of the carbon rim and not the internal width, which should be 17mm. That 17mm is what has direct contact with the tire, so it should be fine.

I love these tires. Durable and do a pretty good job of keeping punctures at bay. Roll fast and grip well in the turns

Fastest tires I've ridden

This is my 2nd set of attack/force. They roll super fast. Narrow in the front where aerodynamics matter most and wide in the rear to reduce rolling resistance where most weight is carried. Makes for a very fast combo. Plus you get conti quality, decent wear life, and decent puncture resistance.
