Gear Review

The real deal.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I've had these gloves a just shy of a year and have used them dozens of times. Pretty much as described, they block wind and keep your hands warm while having essentially zero bulk. One issue I have with many gloves is large seams that feel awkward on your fingers. These gloves don't have that problem at all - they are incredibly comfortable.

I wear these gloves from the upper 40's to 60F. Last week I did a 40 mile ride in light rain in 45 degree weather with these gloves and my hands did get a little cold towards the end, so that's probably the lower limit for me. I haven't worn them in heavy rain for extended rides so I can't comment on their performance in that case.

Overall I have yet to be let down by these gloves, they're probably the one piece of cycling gear I am most happy with.

Update 8/9/2013:
Another half of a year of heavy use and these gloves are still great. I wore them every other day on a 2400 mile tour through British Columbia, Yukon, and Alaska and they were perfect. When I arrived in Alaska I climbed Denali and wore these as my main gloves low on the mountain for climbing, digging anchors, and making snow camp with ice axes and shovels. They're showing some wear but are still amazingly comfortable, warm, and breathable.
