My experience = epic fail
Was wearing these during a recent crash at local DH bike park. Despite wearing them, walked away with a nasty laceration/avulsion down to the bone on an area that is supposed to be covered by the pad. They fit me well (as tight as possible without cutting circulation) and are well constructed and comfortable, but obviously moved upon impact. I understand that no pad is foolproof and falls have lots of dynamics involved, but these provided basically no protection. I have since switched to pads with hard plastic outer shells for DH. Perhaps these pads are best suited for technical trail riding at lower speeds/Gooseberry Mesa type stuff.
