High-quality protection.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Coming from the burlier TLD T-bone knee/shin guard, which after five years of abuse are worn out, I find these to be the perfect blend of toughness, light weight and good coverage. Unlike the T-bone guard which would slide down until I started sweating, these stay put on my legs from the start of the ride and really stay put as I start to sweat. I have only crashed once in these so far, a relatively low-speed low-side on soft dirt, and they stayed in place and showed no signs of damage. They take machine-washing well, unlike the T-bones which degraded over the years with each washing. They seem a little warm at the start of the ride, but after a minute or two, you don't even notice them. I have ridden close to 100 miles in these and there are no issues with rubbing, hot-spots or ill-fit. They are sized quite large, so go down one size - I am 5' 10" and 165 # and I usually wear a size Large, but these were too large for me in that size, and even for my son-in-law who is 6' 2" and 195 #, so I am using Mediums and they fit well - not too tight . Highly recommend these if you ride in rocky terrain and want unobtrusive protection with good coverage during the ride.
