Best cycling jacket
- Gender: Male
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Being a cycling specific jacket, the P.R.O. Softshell has a very trim/snug fit. There is not much room for anything other than a thermal layer underneath. That said, this jacket is warm enough that you really won't need anything else. I would almost consider it to be completely wind proof, since I have yet to experience any draft, even when cycling into a substantial headwind. Works well to keep me warm, even around freezing temperatures (as long as I am exerting myself).
The tailoring is impeccable, as is expected from PI. The material feels wonderful on the skin. The sleeves are just the right length, and fit nicely over a glove. The elbows are designed to flex and bend without bunching or pinching at the seams. The waist stops just at the belt line in the front, and rests over the top of the buttocks in the rear (stays in place, thanks to a bead of silicone). From the zippers down to the elastic, this jacket has been well designed. Even at full price, the P.R.O. Softshell is worth every penny. On sale, you can't afford not to get one!
