I recently purchased a Gore jersey (Phantom Summer Sleeveless jersey) in a size XL and the fit is just about perfect for me. However, I have found that when it comes to jackets, I usually need to go up 1 size in order to accommodate an extra layer underneath. Would that be the case with the Gore Phantom SO jacket? Should I go up to an XXL? Or is it true to size and I'll have no issues wearing a baselayer (like UnderArmour ColdGear) underneath it comfortably if I stick with an XL?

It should fit pretty true to size, but will be a *little* roomier than the Phantom Summer lady sleeveless jersey. If you plan on wearing a thinner base-layer, you should be OK in the XL, but if you plan on wearing a thicker thermal jersey underneath, consider going up to the XXL.

Either way, take confidence in realcyclist.com's exchange policy!

hope that helps,

I find I always have to go to a XXL in Gore (and L.G.) so that I have room for base layers, and for overall length and better articulation. Depends on personal preference, of course.
