Known for tagging its tire models with airport codes, Clement keeps the tradition alive with its LAS Clincher. After all, when you have one of America's most exciting cyclocross races taking place in Vegas each year, Clement decided it would pay homage to the event in the form of the LAS.

CrossVegas is known being super fast, as the dry, hardpack grass course keeps speeds high. That's exactly why Clement designed its LAS with a diamond-file tread, with knobs that increase in size as they move toward the shoulder knobs, which are borrowed from its PDX mud tire.

The tread is molded from a 60 durometer rubber, which is paired with a 120tpi casing for a super supple ride. This is enhanced by the generous 33mm width and lack of a puncture-resistant tread liner. The LAS's casing was made from an aramid and Kevlar blend, and each tire comes in at a claimed weight of 350 grams.

The Clement LAS Tire - Clincher comes in the color Black, and it is sized at 700c x 33mm.

Great semi-slick tire

This is a great racing tire that has a fast tread in the middle of the tire and with the raised knobs on the edge of the tire you can carry that speed through tight cyclocross corners. A perfect tire for hard-packed and bumpy terrain.

Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because this tire is meant for racing. The knobs on the side of the tire seem to wear out pretty quickly if you train on them consistently.

Great tires

I have these on my around town bike that I also occassionally take out on some dirt/gravel roads, so I needed more than a slick. These fit the bill perfectly. Decent side knobs, smooth center line. They roll fast, a lot more forgiving than a slick

A great all around file tread for those dry and fast early season races. Confidence inspiring when leaning the bike over in those high speed grassy corners. Once the rain/snow starts to fly, you'll nee something a little meatier, but certainly a bargain for the $$!

Best all around Cross Tire

Really amazing tire for most conditions other than heavy mud or slick grass. I am 150lbs and use these on Williams 25mm rims and can easily get the pressure down to 30psi and no pinch flatting with latex tubes. In general for most races i run around 40PSI and they are phenomenal. They mount easily, a bit wide, and seem to have good tread life.

Exactly what I was hoping for

Initial impression: excellent traction on hard packed, dry trails, smooth on pavement. I wasn't sure how this type of tire would work on a cross tire compared to the mountain bike version. It works perfectly despite the higher tire pressure. One can easily get out of the saddle and push into the pedals without slipping.

Could I run these tubeless on some stan's no tubes wheels?

I've seen some tubeless conversions where neither the rim nor tire were made to be tubeless... Honestly you can do it with almost any kit if you get it right. The only time I struggled to get the bead to seat, I was working with Reynolds carbon rims and some super light tires, neither of which were meant to run tubeless - the main issue was a blown sidewall that we repaired with superglue and gravel. Had to blast it on with a compressor, but it worked. Road tires seat super tight anyway, so if you already have the tubeless rim, I'm sure it can be done!

This has to be one of the best tires for fast hard pack tires made today, my other and first favorite is the classic Challenge Grifo XS. They are light weight, very fast, and incredibly supple for a non open tubular like the Grifo XS. I also have not had punctures yet. These do not have any form of puncture protection so on my commuter/cross bike I throw a Panaracer Flat Away Liner in the rear and all set to go! Bear in mind, though this tire is labeled as a 33mm it is actually a 36mm on most standard 15mm inner rim width wheels at pressure, I have mine on my commuter cross bike on A23 wheels and they measure 36.95mm in rear and 36.75 in front with a Storm Mic at my pressures. Where as my Challenge Grifo XS 33's measure 33.00mm in rear at max pressure which I do not ride them at, and .05mm less in the from at correct inflation show how accurately the tire is made even on a wider type cross wheel!
