Trumping the cutoffs.

Modeled after the US Postal summer pants and NATO military shorts, Chrome's Union Shorts were designed to be durable, comfortable, and functional for all your warm-weather pursuits.

The shorts were constructed from a water-resistant, durable 4-way stretch fabric, which means that they're going to pull sweat away from your skin and repel moisture at the exterior. In other words, you're going to stay dry, cool, and comfortable throughout your ride.

Chrome cut the Unions with versatility in mind, with a slim fit that provides comfort in the saddle and bar stool alike. This is made possible by a full-length gusset that moves with you, instead of bunching like those cutoff jeans. The shorts are finished off with mesh lined front pockets, a coin pocket, and also a snap-closure rear pocket.

The Chrome Industries Union Shorts - Men's are available in sizes Small to XX-Large and come in the colors Black and Charcoal.

Great biking shorts!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 34

These shorts are great! I ordered a 34 and while the waist fits fine they are slightly tighter than I though they'd be. The pockets are big enough to be able carry my phone, gum, wallet, keys without them feeling to tight. The pants are soft and somewhat waterproof. I've used them for about a month straight now and they show no signs of giving up on me.

Very comfy but some QC issues

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have purchased this short. Ordered a 30 first but it was a little bit tight in fit. Swapped it for a 32 and it is perfect. I used it for commuting between May until the end of June. Then as a regular short for most of the Summer. This was the Short that defined this Summer for me., for being very soft and also very very comfy. Nevertheless, my love of the short has turned to concern as some of the back stitching is coming undone. This is not the first time that items either made in the Far East or even Italian made show questionable durability when it comes to the thread used for stitching.

I am sending it directly back to Chrome Industries in order for them to remedy this situation.

The fabric wears well but as you can notice, the fabric in itself on the seating part does show wear. It is the first time that I have purchased a short like this BUT, if they claim it to be incredibly durable, it does not hold its shape well.

I wonder if other shorts are more durable as I keep reading that people wiped out in pavement in falls, and the fabric does not fray.

This fabric is NOT that bullet proof.

Best Shorts Ever

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Perfect Fit...True to size, Wear like iron, Comfortable. I love these shorts all the way around... I would like two pockets in the back...That is my only negative comment.

Cool short

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

They run true to size. Length is on longer side - to the top of knee - which I like The fabric seems weird at first but it's actually quite comfortable. Face it, Chrome makes great stuff. Only downside would be shape and number or pockets. Would like left and right on butt but only has right.

chrome union shorts

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 34

I am usually a 32-33 waist but i had to go with the 34's. They seem to fit like a 33 and I'm happy about that since they were $20 cheaper. These shorts will probably be my next favorite pair for all around wear and cycling. Great shorts- will buy more.

not made like they used to be

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Large

My husband bought a pair a couple of years ago that were longer and had side pockets. we were hoping this year's were just as good or better, but these do not have side pockets and they also seem slightly shorter, making them not fit as well as the older version.

Runs small

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: medium

I'm a pretty solid 32" waist. I ordered the M because the manufacture recommended that size for 32-34". The fit in the legs and hips were pretty spot on but the waist itself was very tight and unforgiving. As a reference, M Prana Zion stretch shorts are almost too large for me.
