Chrome Bags are known for their durability and style, and the Soma Messenger Bag is no exception. It’s not only just the right size for your daily commute, it will also stand up to rain, sleet, snow, and anything else you throw its way. If you’re able to find something the Soma can’t handle, rest assured with its lifetime warranty.

The body of the Soma is constructed with ballistic nylon. It is both abrasion and water-resistant. Supplementing this exterior fabric is a tarpaulin liner that has been completely seam sealed to keep water out, whether you get caught in a downpour or lay it down in a puddle by accident. The bag is secured with the signature seatbelt release buckle, which incidentally also serves as a bottle opener. The shoulder strap is padded for comfort during long commutes. As far as storage, the Soma includes a padded laptop compartment, main compartment and smaller pockets for pens, pencils, and your phone.

No velcro!!! Yay!!! Brilliant bag size

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

What I loved about this bag is that it's not too wide. It's more of a tallish bag, which is what I wanted so my arms weren't dealing with a massive bag. I LOVE that is does not have velcro to strap it down. Velcro gets to be sometimes hard to open if you have arthritis and it's loud and can snag your clothes. I loved the front 2 pockets - tall and long. No closures - easy to get into for glasses, phone, bus pass. My Mac fit perfect and it had a spot for an iPad. The shoulder strap is brilliant. It's different than most messenger bags - not like a handle it's connected to the bag (hard to describe) so that a large portion of the strap sits on your shoulders (spread the weight out). It's got protection for wet weather and it is a rugged pack. It also has a strap if i you want to clip it closer to your body for less movement. This is an awesome bag. Hope people give it a go!!!
