Your forever bag.

Hauling wet gear around is a waste of time if you get wet in the process. On the flip side, though, hauling dry gear in a leaky bag in the rain is just as annoying. At the same time, you don't always need to carry the kitchen sink with you. Taking all of this into account, Chrome tackled big problems with a small bag — go figure. The new Orlov Backpack is its smallest backpack, yet it keeps your gear just as dry as its older brothers.

Chrome frequently finds inspiration in vintage military bags, and the Orlov is no exception to this. Inspired by WWII rucksacks, it's the ideal size to haul wetsuits and beer to and from the beach. Constructed out of two layers, a 1000 denier cordura shell and a 1200 denier military-grade truck tarpaulin liner, the Orlov provides all of the waterproof durability that you'll ever need. Welded seams ensure this in the main compartment, and a smaller waterproof zippered compartment separates wet and dry gear. The zippered pocket hold up to a 15-inch laptop, although it's worth noting that a padded sleeve is still recommended. Two small front pockets, adorned with Chrome's stainless steel hardware, provide quick-access to all of your essentials.

Although many bags claim to be waterproof, often the zippers or closures leak. To prevent this, Chrome uses its roll-top design instead of relying on hardware. This means that the bag rolls down and fastens with a hook-and-loop closure. It effectively seals much like a dry-bag.

For comfort while riding, the Orlov's shoulder straps are curved to fit your ribcage and a sternum strap keeps them from slipping. An EVA foam panel greets your back, while still allowing air to circulate. This way, you won't get all nasty and sweaty. Metal camlock compression buckles easily adjust the straps' lengths, while hook-and-loop were added to the straps in order to attach accessories. And lastly, daisy chain loops hold carabiners or lights.

The Chrome Orlov backpack is available in 15.75 x 20.5 x 5in size (volume 27L). It holds up to 1647cubic inches, and it's available in the colors Black, Olive or Grey. Like all Chrome products, the Orlov is backed by the industry's most uncomplicated lifetime warranty.
