This thing is awesome

This is such a beautiful part. I'm throwing it on a Santa Cruz Jackal with a surly spacer kit. This is probably the part that I'm most excited for on the whole bike. The plan is to run a 36/16 gear ratio.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I own six of these cogs ranging from 15T-20T. I use 38T/16T gearing 80% of the time racing single speed cyclocross here in Utah. My wheels are Hed Belgium Plus with Chris King 11 speed hubs. I have the Surly spacer kit and tugnut held together tightly with a steel DT Swiss RWS quick release. The cogs are very easy to switch out if you have these two tools:

    Crombie Tool

    Chain Whip

Since you are moving the wheel back and forth each time you change gears you also have to adjust your rear brake accordingly.
