Sleek and simple.

For women commuters interested in a simple, modern, and reliable bike that'll get them from point A to B without a fuss, UK-based Charge Bikes delivers with its commuter-crushing Grater Mixte 1 Complete Bike. Charge hails from England and is no stranger to the urban bike-riding landscape, as it's been building practical bikes for commuters for the past decade. The Mixte 1 combines this knowhow with a durable, step-through frame that offers the versatility necessary for navigating city streets, country roads, and everything in between.

The Grater was built using tried-and-proven 6061 aluminum, which is known for its exceptional durability and low weight. The step-through design adds convenience, which is most appreciated while hopping on and off at the coffee shop, bakery, market, office, and anywhere else your adventures happen to take you. The flat handlebars keep you in a comfortable, upright riding position for optimal visibility, and the included fenders keep wet conditions from ruining your ride.

Charge completed the Grater Mixte with a host of rider-friendly components — our favorite being the simple 1x8 Shimano gearing. This setup eliminates shifting up front entirely, while the Shimano Altus derailleur handles shifting duties out back. Charge's large 32mm Coaster tires soak up road vibration, along with its women-specific Ladle saddle, and Tektro brakes ensure you stop when you want.

Given the height of the seat post extension on Katie Stewart's small frame, do you think a medium frame would fit someone 5'4" with long legs?

    Adorable and Fun

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This little townie is the beez kneez.

It was easy to assemble and rides great.

Over all just a great pub bike.

Be advised the Matte Red is more of a Plum.

    Adorable and Fun

Katie, How tall are you and what size did you purchase?

Given the height of your seat post extension, do you think a medium frame would have also fit? I'm considering a purchase for a 5'4" rider but they only have mediums remaining in stock.
