Grater 4 Complete Bike - 2016

Born in Great Britain, Charge is known for its urban machines that get riders from place to place without the hassle and complications commonplace with many of today's bikes. With this ethos in place, functionality is taken to the next level with its stealthy new Grater 4 Complete Bike. The Grater 4 combines this idea into one of the most rider-friendly packages we've seen at this price point, complete with hydraulic disc brakes and SRAM's proven one-by 11 drivetrain. Your commute just became something to look forward to.

Similar to Charge's Plug range of urban navigating machines, the Grater uses the proven standby material in its frame construction: 6061 butted aluminum. Custom dropouts with rack and fender mounts add to the frame's versatility, allowing you to ride through the winter months and pack extra gear for the adventures ahead. Charge mated the durable aluminum main frame with a flat handlebar and straight blade carbon fork to save a bit of weight and help soak up the bumps of the road.

The Grater 4 received a host of carefully selected components to keep things light, reliable, and safe. The standout feature would have to be SRAM's Rival one-by taking over in the drivetrain department, with a single ring up front mated to a Type 2 rear derailleur out back. An 11-36t cassette gives you a massive range of gearing options, while simultaneously eliminating front shifting from the equation. Shimano's BR-M445 hydraulic disc brakes give you a massive dose of stopping power, which is always welcome while riding in city traffic. Continental City Ride II tires keep you rolling, and Charge rounded out the build with fenders front and rear.
