The next wave of brilliance.

Typically, we're used to making certain sacrifices in the name of low weight -- namely, to that of strength. However, this design principle is entirely unacceptable for helmets, as protection is a helmet's primary function. Thankfully, though, the engineers at Catlike have continued to push the design envelope by actually increasing strength while lowering weight. Case in point is its new Mixino Helmet. It tips the scales at around 35 grams less than the Whisper Plus, all while incorporating a stronger aramid roll cage and a new vertical fit adjustment system.

With protection standing as Catlike' biggest goal, it depends on multiple proprietary technologies in order to achieve this. The Whisper Plus uses a process called In Mold, where the outer and inner layers of the helmet are molded to become one piece. This process increases impact resistance, and improves diffusion of crash energy. For crashes where the back of your head takes the brunt of impact, Catlike incorporated its Low Nape Protection towards the lower rear structure of the helmet. For additional rear protection, the helmet uses a Crash Energy Splitter design that distributes crash energy throughout the helmet, and assures an even absorption of impact along the air intakes. This design is not only a revolution in safety, but an integral aspect of the Mixino's feather-light weight. Adding to the protection, particularly for high-impact, the Mixino features an aramid roll cage. ramid is a class of heat-resistant synthetic fibers that, when combined, create a extremely strong composite that is easy to manipulate. Because of this, you'll see it used in everything from tires, to helmets, and even to ballistic-rated body armor fabric.

Outside of safety, Catlike's goal is to provide you with a lightweight helmet that has ample ventilation. Accordingly, the Mixino features the same 39 air vent design found on the Whisper Plus. Likewise, the Mixino uses the same exclusive Dual Flow design that utilizes large frontal air intakes that connect from the helmet's fore position to the oversized exit vents at the rear. Dual Flow creates a constant airstream through the helmet, and thus prevents overheating. This design also limits the material needed for construction, which would be a major safety issue for most manufacturers. However, Catlike uses a patented technology that they call an Airtube System. This system uses air-filled hollow elastic tubes that create an inner mesh within the helmet. This system reinforces the open design of the Mixino, and eliminates the need for bulky construction material.

However, for the Mixino, Catlike focused on upgrading the Whisper Plus' comfort and adjustability. Along these lines, the Mixino features an adjustable micro-dial at the rear that controls the overall retention-level of the helmet. Catlike calls this its MPS eVo system, and it expands or contracts the newly-designed, thin-style arms that wrap inside of the helmet. Additionally, the Mixino has two independently-adjustable head supports at the rear, and two new lateral wing pads that are also adjustable. Even better, these pads are interchangeable, meaning that you're able to use varying thicknesses depending on your head size. And, also new to the Mixino, Catlike has enabled its adjustment system to allow vertical adjustments. So, nearly every head size is able to be accommodated with a race-day level of fit.

The Catlike Mixino Helmet is available in the sizes Small, Medium, and Large and in the colors Black/green, Matte Black, Matte Carbon/red, White, White/blue, White/red, and White/green.
