Consistent quality.

What makes a quality pair of glasses? Speaking for ourselves, comfort reigns at the top of the list, followed closely by a consistent fit, durability, and just to be a tad vain, style. And while the cycling glasses market seems saturated, it's really just flooded with a host of sub par offerings. However, every now and again, a glimmer of hope shines from the heap, and for now, that glimmer is from the Catlike D'Lux Micro Sunglasses.

Not surprisingly, Catlike's foray into eyewear follows the same ideological path as its helmets, starting with functionality. The frames are made from a lightweight and durable, dual-compound polycarbonate. In the Micro, you'll find that the lens shape features a little more shallow of a profile than the other D'Lux offerings. This compact shape still provides ample coverage, only it permits a little lighter of an overall design. At the arms of the Micros, Catlike has rubberized a majority of the surface area. This prevents slippage against either either your skin or helmet when you rest the glasses during a long climb. To further the precise fit of the Micro, Catlike has also included an adjustable nose bridge with a similar anti-slip rubberized surface. This allows you to make minute adjustments in order to dial-in the position of the glasses. Additionally, you'll find that the rubber is soft-to-the-touch, as to make the bridge nonbinding and non-obtrusive.

For the lenses, Catlike designed them to be interchangeable. So, you can run clear lenses in low-light conditions, or the polarized, blue blocker lenses in bright conditions. Either way, Catlike's European engineered and manufactured lenses feature an anti-scratch, water-repellent, and anti-reflective design that will provide a consistent, 100% light transmission. Additionally, you won't have to worry about internal condensation, as the frame design allows ample airflow through in order to prevent misting.

The Catlike D'Lux Micro Sunglasses are available in one size and in the colors Carbon/black, Green/white, Red/white, White/green, White/orange, White/black, White/red, White/blue, White/black, and White/pink. Lens colors are available in Blueblocker Red and Blueblocker White.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I wore these for the first time this weekend on the mountain bike and was super impressed! The optics are great, they stayed put, and frame doesn't interfere with your view. Plus, they work well for smaller faces. Catlike also provides a 2nd clear lens. Happy!
